Historic setting and unique atmosphere

Located in the grounds of the Château de Puymartin, a few kilometers from Sarlat-la-Canéda, La Table de Puymartin welcomes visitors in an environment steeped in history.
The shaded terrace, under an elegant tent, offers a privileged view of the stones of the castle.
This pop-up restaurant, open from spring to the end of September, offers a gourmet break in a major heritage site in the Périgord Noir.

Service is provided at the counter, in a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for a break in the open air between two visits.
The menu changes throughout the day: lunch around the fire pit, plates to share, market dishes, then a more elaborate menu in the evening, depending on the weather and the season.

Bistronomic cuisine rooted in the region

At the helm of La Table de Puymartin, chef Vincent Lucas creates bistro-style cuisine that showcases local produce. Each dish reflects the balance between culinary tradition and freedom of inspiration. Vegetables come from local producers, meats are sourced from regional farms, and fresh herbs punctuate each plate with precision.

The chef places a central emphasis on mastered simplicity. Wood-fired cooking, homemade sauces, and reduced juices give the dishes a delicious depth without artifice. On Tuesday evenings, a unique menu is offered during the castle's evening show, extending the experience in a convivial atmosphere.

A chef with a starred career

Vincent Lucas , trained by renowned chefs such as Nicolas Lebec and René Gillard, has twice been awarded a Michelin star, first at La Villa Morelia, then at the Étincelles restaurant in Dordogne. His culinary style, both instinctive and sensory, is based on a personal interpretation of the product. He likes to work freely, between technical rigor and spontaneous creativity.

His arrival in Puymartin in 2024 marks a new stage in his career. His goal: to offer quality, accessible cuisine, rooted in the region and directly linked to the seasons. His presence gives a special dimension to La Table de Puymartin, which becomes more than just a temporary restaurant.

Schedule and organization

La Table de Puymartin is open from 11am to 5pm Sunday to Thursday, and from 11am to 9pm Friday and Saturday. In April and May, the restaurant closes in the evening. The restaurant is also open for All Saints' Day evenings and Christmas holidays. It is advisable to consult the castle's program for special evenings and event menus.

Access is free for both castle visitors and passers-by. The atmosphere is relaxed, the setting naturally spectacular, and the gastronomy is outstanding.

Less than 30 kilometers from La Table de Puymartin, the Périgord Noir boasts a rich and varied heritage. The town of Sarlat-la-Canéda, just 10 minutes away, charms visitors with its medieval streets, its farmers' market, and its rich cultural calendar.

To the north, the village of Saint-Geniès and its slate roofs are worth a detour. To the east, Montignac-Lascaux is home to the famous International Centre for Cave Art, a must-see for discovering the Lascaux caves and the origins of prehistoric art.

Nature lovers can explore the trails of Bois de Baran or explore the Dordogne Valley by canoe from Vitrac, La Roque-Gageac or Beynac-et-Cazenac . The views of the limestone cliffs and castles are remarkable.
