Castle of Puymartin The Legend of the White Lady

Puymartin Castle, located 6km from Sarlat, is a true fairytale setting.

The remains of an early 13th-century castle, destroyed by repeated assaults during the Hundred Years' War, and the numerous architectural transformations and additions made up to the extensive 19th-century renovations, are all part of the great moments in French history. The 17th-century painted decorations and its mythological cabinet, listed as a Historical Monument, are unique in the Périgord region. You will also discover the singular history of this family who have occupied the castle for 600 years, their most intimate secrets, period furniture and tapestries, and the private apartments of the Marquise. And while, at the end of the 19th century, the castle was rumored to be cursed, strange stories resurfaced from the past, such as the famous legend of the White Lady…

Small dogs allowed, but must be carried in the castle.

• July and August :

- Monday, Tuesday and Saturday: visits from 10am to 6:30pm
- Wednesday: visits from 10am – 1:30pm | “ The Sword of the Ancestors ” from 2pm to 7:30pm
- Thursday, Friday and Sunday: visits from 10am to 5:45pm | "The Sword of the Ancestors" from 5:45pm to 8pm

Forgotten archives, a mysterious sword, a quest through history…

Once again, the Marquis is asking for your help. Hidden in old, forgotten trunks, shrouded in dust and mystery, lie archives. These documents, which tell the stories of ancestors and have survived the centuries, mention a priceless sword with strange powers that has suddenly vanished. It will take everyone's effort to solve this mystery!

A captivating adventure to experience at any age:

• Original workshops accessible to all (riddles, challenges, skill games…).
• Amazing encounters with the iconic characters of the castle.
• A different atmosphere in each room, each scripted for the occasion.
• Discover the rich history of this castle dating back to the 12th century.

IMMERSIVE EVENING - THE WHITE LADIES' BALL

Immerse yourself in the magical world of the legends of Puymartin…

During these evenings the castle is transformed into an enchanted place where dream and reality merge… A timeless, festive and magical moment where shows, strolling, entertainment, light shows and fireworks intertwine.

An activity to enjoy with family, friends or as a couple to keep an indelible memory of your holidays in Périgord.

A unique program:

• Early evening: strolling, entertainment (games, stories, face painting...) and a visit to the castle, which has been specially themed for the occasion.
• As night falls, the magic begins... Puymartin will be the stage for a show between dream and reality created by three companies: stilt walkers, dance, giant puppets... A fireworks display will close the evenings.
• Restaurant & bar on site.

• Every Tuesday evening, from July 14th to August 25th inclusive.
• From 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
