    • Le Bimbillou Parc: a living museum in the heart of Périgord

Bimbillou Parc is not a museum like any other. Here, the collections are not locked away behind dusty glass cases: they are presented in an exceptional troglodyte setting, carved into the rock on the banks of the Dronne River, in Brantôme.

By visiting the park, you enter a true living museum, where each object tells a story and each room immerses you in a different universe. Six exhibition spaces, including the Moulin du Couvent, house thousands of tools and old objects collected by Claude Martinot, local figure and founder of the Font Vendôme motorhome brand.

      The treasures of a passion

For decades, Claude has passionately collected everyday tools, old-fashioned trade instruments, and forgotten objects that bear witness to rural and artisanal life. From blacksmithing to woodworking and agriculture, his collections retrace an essential part of the Périgord's history.

These rare and authentic pieces are now finding a new life at Bimbillou Parc, exhibited in natural cavities and buildings steeped in history. This open-air museum is a true immersion into the tangible and intangible heritage of the region.

      A family tribute turned museum

Upon their grandfather's passing, his two grandsons, Théo Bauchaud-Martinot and Tom Gilbert, decided to bring his dream to life: opening this unique site to the public and sharing his incredible collection. They transformed these thousands of objects into an educational and immersive journey, offering visitors an incomparable cultural and emotional experience.

      An interactive and accessible museum

At Bimbillou Parc, you don't just admire: you observe, you learn and you have fun. Clear explanatory panels, realistic scenes and even period wooden games complete the discovery. Young and old alike can understand the uses of the objects while enjoying a fun and friendly visit.

Bimbillou Parc is therefore at once a troglodyte museum, a family adventure and a window onto the past. It is the ideal place for heritage lovers, families looking for cultural activities and all those who want to discover the Dordogne from an original and lively angle.
