It is no surprise that the Bourdeilles Medievals take place at the Château de Bourdeilles, a place full of stories to discover all year round. Magnificent with its towers and gardens, it includes two superb buildings between the Middle Ages castle and the Renaissance dwelling, two structures to visit on a self-guided or guided tour. Explore the rooms and corridors in search of the richest furniture collection in Aquitaine, the bedrooms and the gilded living room, as well as the courtyard of the count's castle or the remains of the baronial castle. Many activities and workshops are offered on site to immerse you in the atmosphere of the knights, as well as a virtual escape game in the heart of the Château de Bourdeilles. Knights, ladies and minstrels, welcome to the Château de Bourdeilles! This year again, good humor and conviviality are back for two days of activities and entertainment on the theme of the Middle Ages, with fascinating demonstrations :

• The Sanctis Draconis troop dons the behourd, its most beautiful armor for real-time fights where the sound of the swords makes the amazed spectators shudder.
• The Compagnons d'Azur present a perfect example of well-executed and coordinated military training, where every gesture is precise.
• Linked words are a whole technique to discover during a binding demonstration, a summary of the meticulousness and patience of the time.

In the morning and afternoon, there are many demonstrations to present you with the traditions of the Middle Ages during the Bourdeilles Medievales.

Knights tended to fight a lot, whether to win a victory, or to charm a courted lady. Discover the customs of the time through larger-than-life shows that take you back to the time of swords. Throughout the day, the Compagnie l’Âme des Ames presents to you:

• “Robin’s Friends”,
• “The King’s Musketeers”
• “Fire Staff and the Fool”

These medieval fencing shows are impressive with mastered staging and an integrated touch of humor. Open to all, they delight young and old who keep their childish soul.

Les Médiévales de Bourdeilles, the unforgettable moments of summer

Before reaching Bourdeilles Castle, go to the town hall at 9:30 a.m. to admire the costumed stroll through the village, where ladies, knights and minstrels roam the streets, dressed in traditional clothing. At 10 a.m., arrival at the Château de Bourdeilles which finally opens its doors in a friendly and medieval atmosphere, punctuated by the music of the time. At lunchtime, share a meal with charcuterie at the Auberge du Château, before returning to the presentation of the medieval troops at the start of the afternoon. Demonstrations, shows and workshops, the day is very busy, completed by the artisans' market, Yoho the crier, a make-up artist, and the blacksmith's exhibition which can be discovered all weekend at the Château de Bourdeilles. On site, catering and refreshments are provided to free you from the weight of the picnic and water bottles. Ready to live in the time of the knights ?
