    • BRANTÔME CANOE: WATER SPORTS AND ELECTRIC SCOOTERS IN THE PÉRIGORD VERT REGION

Discover Brantôme Canoeing in the Périgord Vert : canoe, kayak, paddle rentals on the Dronne river and off-road electric scooter tours to explore Brantôme and its surroundings.

Outdoor recreation in the heart of the Périgord Vert

Located in Brantôme-en-Périgord, Brantôme Canoë offers a selection of activities directly connected to the natural environment. The establishment offers the opportunity to canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard on the Dronne River, and to explore forest trails using all-terrain electric scooters. These activities are suitable for a wide audience, from age 14 and up, and provide a unique way to discover the rich landscapes of the Périgord Vert region.

Navigating the Dronne, an iconic river

A tributary of the Isle River, the Dronne flows through the village of Brantôme in a wooded setting, punctuated by limestone cliffs, stone footbridges, and old mills. The geographer Élisée Reclus described it as the most beautiful river in France, praising its clarity and meandering course. Ideal for a leisurely stroll along the river, it offers a calm and shady environment, perfect for observing wildlife and local heritage.

Canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding on the Dronne

Renting a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard from Brantôme Canoë allows you to enjoy independent trips tailored to your skill level and preferences. The routes offered vary in length and distance. Some wind through the historic center of Brantôme, alongside the old ramparts, or pass under medieval bridges, while others allow you to paddle upstream through lush vegetation. These excursions are suitable for families as well as casual paddlers.

      Off-road scooter rides around Brantôme

For those who prefer dry land, Brantôme Canoë also organizes guided off-road electric scooter tours. These outings are led by a professional guide and offer a unique way to discover the trails of the Périgord Vert region. Forests, ridge paths, and clearings unfold before you, revealing stunning views of the surrounding valleys. The activity is open to participants aged 14 and over, and prior cycling experience is recommended. Equipment provided includes a helmet, gloves, and a guide.

      Organization and practical information

Scooter tours must be booked in advance by phone at 05.53.05.77.24, for groups of up to ten people. Participants are advised to wear athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, and sunglasses. All activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and with respect for the natural environment.

To discover within a 30 km radius

The area around Brantôme-en-Périgord is brimming with natural, historical, and gastronomic sites. The village itself, located nearby, deserves special attention: its Benedictine abbey, troglodytic caves, mills on the Dronne River, and picturesque alleyways form a living heritage. The weekly Friday market brings together producers and artisans showcasing local Périgord products.

About ten kilometers away, the Château de Bourdeilles, with its two adjoining buildings (medieval and Renaissance), overlooks the valley. The Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park, easily accessible, offers vast terrain for hiking, mountain biking, or simply enjoying the scenery.

Within a 30 km radius, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, charms visitors with its traditional architecture and tranquil atmosphere. Villars and its prehistoric cave are another point of interest, as is Nontron, a town renowned for its handcrafted knives and artistic creations.

The markets in Thiviers (a must-see! Saturday), Nontron (Saturday), and Brantôme (Friday) are ideal places to meet local producers: goat cheeses, jams, honeys, walnuts, and artisanal oils. Finally, the nearby rivers like the Côle and the Bandiat are perfect for nature breaks, swimming, or walks along the water's edge.

A really nice canoe trip, 8 km. 💦 The staff didn't seem interested. A very quick drive to the starting point. The seat belts weren't properly fastened, but the driver didn't respond to this even though we clearly pointed this out twice. The staff wasn't very interested in answering some simple questions at the start of the canoe trip. 😬The trip itself was beautiful🌳
