    • BRANTÔME CANOE: WATER SPORTS AND ALL-TERRAIN SCOOTERS IN THE PÉRIGORD VERT

Brantôme Canoë offers canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the Dronne River, as well as off-road scooter tours in Brantôme-en-Périgord. Discover the Périgord Vert region in a new way, between nature, heritage, and sporting activities.

      Outdoor activities in Brantôme-en-Périgord

Located in Brantôme-en-Périgord, in the heart of the Périgord Vert region, Brantôme Canoë offers outdoor activities that allow you to discover the area from a natural and dynamic perspective. The center provides canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards for navigating the Dronne River, as well as all-terrain electric scooters for exploring the surrounding trails. These activities, accessible to everyone aged 14 and up, offer a fun way to experience the Périgord countryside.

The Dronne, an emblematic river of the Périgord Vert

The Dronne River flows through Brantôme in a verdant setting, where medieval bridges, limestone cliffs, and wooded banks follow one another. Prized for its clarity and gentle flow, it was described as "the most beautiful river in France" by the geographer Élisée Reclus. Calm and meandering, it is particularly well-suited to canoeing and exploring the river landscapes of the Périgord Vert region. Canoes glide peacefully beneath the leafy canopy, passing by troglodytic abbeys, mills, and natural cliffs.

Canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding in Brantôme

Renting a canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard allows you to enjoy a self-guided water excursion on the Dronne River. Several routes are available, with varying levels of difficulty and duration, to suit both families and thrill-seekers. The trips offer the opportunity to admire the natural landscapes of the Périgord Vert region, passing alongside the city walls and navigating some small rapids suitable for beginners.

      Off-road electric scooter tours

Alongside its water sports activities, Brantôme Canoë offers guided off-road electric scooter tours. Led by an instructor, these excursions explore forest trails, country lanes, and viewpoints overlooking the surrounding hills. The activity is open to those aged 14 and over, with some cycling experience recommended. Equipment is provided, including helmets, gloves, and professional supervision.

      Terms and conditions and booking

Scooter rides are available by reservation only (call 05.53.05.77.24 ) for groups of up to 10 people. Sportswear, closed-toe shoes, and sunglasses are recommended. These activities are conducted with respect for the local environment, with particular attention paid to the safety and comfort of participants.

Discover the Périgord Vert within a 30 km radius

Around Brantôme, numerous opportunities for discovery complement the Brantôme Canoe experience. The village itself, nicknamed the "Venice of the Périgord", is worth a visit with its Benedictine abbey founded by Charlemagne, its troglodytic caves and its traditional market.

A few kilometers away, Bourdeilles charms visitors with its twin castle, a blend of medieval and Renaissance styles, overlooking the valley. The Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park offers hiking and mountain biking trails through unspoiled countryside.

The villages of Saint-Jean-de-Côle, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, and Villars with its decorated cave, complete this immersion in local heritage. Several producers of walnuts, goat cheeses, honeys, and artisanal jams welcome visitors to their farms for tastings and direct sales.

The weekly markets in Brantôme (Fridays), Thiviers (not to be missed! on Saturdays), and Nontron (Saturdays) offer numerous opportunities to discover local produce. Finally, the region's rivers, such as the Côle and the Bandiat, also provide places for swimming or walks in nature.

A really nice canoe trip, 8 km. 💦 The staff didn't seem interested. A very quick drive to the starting point. The seat belts weren't properly fastened, but the driver didn't respond to this even though we clearly pointed this out twice. The staff wasn't very interested in answering some simple questions at the start of the canoe trip. 😬The trip itself was beautiful🌳
