    • MONBAZILLAC CASTLE: A DYNAMIC, IMMERSIVE AND PLAYFUL EXPERIENCE

      Overlooking the Dordogne Valley, just 10 minutes from Bergerac, the Château de Monbazillac estate invites visitors to discover its new tour. It explores both the prized wines of Monbazillac and the history of the château within its Périgord context.

      The 16th-century castle, a listed historical monument, blends the past with modernity in its visitor experience through the use of new technologies. The visit has become dynamic, collaborative, immersive, and fun thanks to videos, audio, light shows, puzzles, projection mapping, animations, and more.

      Stroll through the exhibitions, taste the wines of Monbazillac and be surprised, amazed, seduced! An unforgettable journey awaits you.

      To pique the curiosity of visitors, four distinct areas have been highlighted:

      • History ;
      • Oenological;
      • Playful ;
      • Artistic.

      A new 300m2 museum space dedicated to viticulture and winemaking

      The museum space dedicated to Monbazillac wines stimulates visitors' senses and fosters immersion in the heart of the world's largest sweet wine vineyard. It allows all audiences to discover the secrets and unique characteristics of this golden nectar through its history, terroir, winemakers, and expertise.
      300m2 where the entire oenological universe shines!

      The visitor at the heart of an immersive exhibition

      Visitors will enjoy several interactive and collaborative experiences that will satisfy their curiosity. This " Noble Wine " exhibition will define the territorial and winemaking identity of Monbazillac through several themed spaces in which visitors can freely wander.

      A large wall projection allows viewers to take in the beauty of the vineyards at a glance and animates the Monbazillac terroir landscape with the rhythm of nature. This projection mapping allows for total immersion in the heart of the Dordogne region and, through this invitation to travel, gives them the time to live in harmony with the seasons, to surrender to the slowness that fosters contemplation and discovery.

      Interviews with the winemakers and the cellar master will punctuate the visitor's journey, creating a dialogue between the men and women involved. Visitors can also refresh their knowledge by consulting infographics that highlight ancestral know-how passed down through generations.

      Exploring the aromas of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle: that's tasting the future.

      3 GRAPE VARIETIES TO TASTE THE MYSTERY OF MONBAZILLAC

      • The Semillon

      Sémillon brings power and structure to blended wines, especially when combined with Sauvignon Blanc, of which it is the preferred partner for the production of Monbazillac.
      Its robe is golden yellow, the aromas offer a wide range, from candied apricot, pineapple or mango to "roast". The grape variety develops complex flavors of spices, honey or mushroom.

      • Sauvignon Blanc

      Sauvignon Blanc is the grape variety that winemakers blend with Sémillon – the dominant grape variety. It brings its freshness and fruity aromas.

      Its pale color has green highlights. The grape variety develops vegetal and fruity notes of citrus and rhubarb, complemented by floral hints of elderflower and mineral notes. Its acidity on the palate provides a refreshing sensation, appreciated in sweet wines.

      • Muscadelle

      Muscadelle brings floral notes of acacia and honeysuckle to blended wines, along with fruity notes of peach and apricot enhanced by spicy touches. It delivers a smooth and mellow sensation on the palate.

      3 SPACES TO TASTE THE FUTURE AND EXPLORE YOUR SENSES

      • The Pavilion of Aromas

      Located in the Castle Courtyard, the Pavilion of Aromas is a space that places tasting at the center of the experience.

      Visitors take their seats at tables, are offered three wines, and are introduced by a team of professionals who share all the secrets of the wines being tasted. It's the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into the world of our wines!

      More than just a tasting, we hope for a journey that transports each person to their own unique world. In any case, a moment of sharing and exploration !

      This sensory adventure at the Pavilion of Aromas lasts 30 minutes and is programmed at the beginning of the visit according to different themes.

      • The shop space

      The entire shop area has been completely renovated to allow the eye to take in one last breathtaking view of the park and the castle through the bay window.

      Françoise, our dynamic shop manager, and her team invite visitors to discover our full range of wines and local products. The shop area includes a large counter where you can sample a wine of your choice from our Euphonie range. This essential stop at the end of your visit will give everyone the opportunity to take the time to discover the various local products and take home a taste of the region.

      • The Pavillon Brizay, the restaurant

      Our chef and his team welcome those who cherish precious moments. Savoring a meal is about taking the time to live, and to appreciate each dish, you can explore our Euphonie wine selection: red, white, or rosé, dry, medium, or sweet, Bergerac, Pécharmant, or Monbazillac, by the glass or bottle. Everything is right here for you!

      Seize life, embrace serenity, take your time and make your visit an unforgettable moment.

    The staff were very pleasant from start to finish. The tour price was very reasonable considering what was included. The shop offered a wide selection. Highly recommended.

    This place is fantastic to learn about wine making. That skill is oriented in a very accessible way in the exposition centre. 40 wine growers in the region formed a cooperative decades ago, present their skills but also own the castle itself. A very nice place and I learned more about grape growing and harvesting, and wine making, than ever before
