    • THE CHÂTEAU DE MONBAZILLAC A DYNAMIC, IMMERSIVE AND FUN EXPERIENCE

Overlooking the Dordogne valley, 10 minutes from Bergerac, the Château de Monbazillac estate invites visitors to discover its new tour. It deals with both the precious wines of Monbazillac and the history of the château in its Périgord context.

The 16th century castle, a listed historic monument, combines the past with modernity in its tour offers thanks to new technologies. The visit has become dynamic, collaborative, immersive and fun thanks to videos, audios, light shows, puzzles, mapping and animations.
Stroll through the exhibitionstaste the wines of Monbazillac and be surprised, amazed and seduced! It's an unforgettable journey that awaits you.

To delight the curiosity of visitors, 4 universes have been highlighted:

A new 300m2 museum space dedicated to viticulture and viniculture
The museum space dedicated to Monbazillac wines stimulates the senses of visitors and encourages them to immerse themselves in the heart of the largest sweet wine vineyard in the world. It will allow all visitors to discover the secrets and specificities of this golden nectar, through its history, its terroir, its winemakers and its know-how.
300m2 where the whole oenological universe shines!

The visitor at the heart of an immersive exhibition
Visitors will enjoy several interactive and collaborative experiences that will satisfy their curiosity. This "Noble Wine" exhibition will define the territorial and viticultural identity of Monbazillac thanks to several themed areas in which the visitor will wander freely. A large wall projection allows visitors to see the beauty of the vineyards at a glance and animates the landscape of the Monbazillac region to the rhythm of nature. This "mapping" encourages total immersion of the spectator in the heart of the Dordogne and gives him, through this invitation to travel, the time to live to the rhythm of the seasons, to abandon himself to the slowness useful for contemplation and discovery. Interviews with the winegrowers and the cellar master will punctuate the tour like a dialogue that is woven between men and women. The visitor can also renew his knowledge by consulting the computer graphics recalling an ancestral know-how passed down for several generations.

Exploring the aromas of SemillonSauvignon and Muscadelle: tasting the future

3 GRAPE VARIETIES TO TASTE THE MYSTERY OF MONBAZILLAC

      • Semillon
Semillon brings power and structure to blended wines, especially when combined with Sauvignon Blanc, of which it is the privileged partner for the production of Monbazillac.
Its colour is golden yellow, the aromas offer a wide range, from candied apricot, pineapple or mango to "roasted". The grape variety develops complex flavours of spiceshoney and mushrooms.

      • Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is the grape variety that winemakers incorporate with Semillon - the dominant grape variety. It brings freshness and fruity aromas.
Its light colour has green reflections. The variety develops vegetal and fruity notes of citrus, rhubarb, with floral touches of elderberry and mineral touches. Its acidity on the palate gives an invigorating sensation appreciated for sweet wines.

      • Muscadelle
Muscadelle brings floral notes of acacia and honeysuckle to blended wines, as well as fruity notes of peach and apricot enhanced by spicy touches. It gives a soft and smooth sensation on the palate.

3 AREAS TO TASTE THE FUTURE AND EXPLORE YOUR SENSES

      • The Aroma Pavilion
Located in the Courtyard of the Château, the Flavour Pavilion is a space that places tasting at the centre of the experience.
The visitor sits around tables, 3 wines are proposed and commented on by a team of professionals who reveal all the secrets of the wines tasted to the participants. An ideal moment to deepen the discovery of our wines!
More than just a tasting, we hope that it will be a journey that will take each participant to a world of their own. In any case, a moment of sharing and exploration!

This adventure of the senses in the Aroma Pavilion lasts 30 minutes and is programmed at the beginning of the visit according to different themes.

      • The shop area
The entire shop area has been completely renovated to allow the eye to take in the breathtaking view of the park and the château through the bay window.

Françoise, our dynamic boutique manager, and her team invite visitors to discover our complete range of wines and local products. The shop area includes a large counter where a choice of wine from our Euphonie range can be tasted. This essential stop at the end of the visit will be an opportunity for everyone to take the time to discover the different local products and bring back with them the flavours of the country.

      • Le Pavillon Brizay, the restaurant
Our chef and his team welcome lovers of precious moments. To savour a dish is to take the time to live, and to appreciate each dish, you will be able to explore our range of Euphonie wine, red, white or rosé, dry, sweet or syrupy, Bergerac, Pécharmant or Monbazillac, by the glass or by the bottle. It's all there in front of you! Seize the life, pick up the serenity, take the time and make your visit your unforgettable moment.

Stunning Chateau beautifully maintained and amazing views in the direction of Bergerac. Lots of history to read inside, but a lot of the rooms bare (some strange art) and not very much to engage younger children (make your own wine label, but only 1 screen worked) The museum was very interesting in how it was laid out and taking you through the process of wine making. The wine tasting was good, given in French and English for the various visitors, the wines themselves ok, nothing we wanted to personally buy. You can eat there but they were 'full' apparently so we couldn't but found a very nice restaurant 2 min walk away (Le Semillon)

Very interesting exposition obout wine production. Castle really beautifull from outside, located on top of hill with great views on wineyards. Inside family history and some expositions, quite spartan. Several times per day progamm of different venues. Degustation of wines, as well as nice shop of own and regional wines, local specialities. Staff very kind, all spoke also English.
