    • Brother and sister, we created the Òrt distillery, the "garden" in Occitan, in Montignac-Lascaux on the old farm of our grandparents.

It was in 2019, while Loïs was a master gin distiller in England and Nolwenn was writing her thesis on agricultural soil protection, that we began to dream of a new chapter in the history of this farm. In July 2021, after some renovations and hundreds of aromatic plants, our distillery offered its first spirits made in Périgord.

The challenge for us was to keep the agricultural activity going on this small farm which had been inactive for about ten years.

Our grandparents used to raise sheep and harvest walnuts there. We still harvest walnuts from these hardy walnut trees for our recipes.

We've taken on the challenge of creating spirits with bold flavors and a low environmental impact. They are distilled from aromatic plants grown on-site using organic farming methods. A unique feature in France: our still is heated using solar energy!

Around the distillery, we have a beautiful area for cultivating the aromatic plants that go into our spirits (lemon thyme, rosemary, lavender, juniper, hyssop, caraway, chamomile, angelica, etc.). The crops are certified organic. We have adopted no-till farming techniques and permanent raised beds to promote biodiversity. Our gardens cover a total area of approximately 3,500 square meters.

Inspired by the tradition of traveling distillers, the recipes for our spirits are a tribute to the scents of Périgord throughout the seasons: the sweet scent of the earth in summer, the herbaceous freshness of wild thyme or the spiciness of juniper.

We would be delighted to welcome you to the distillery to show you our work and let you taste our spirits.

You will be able to discover, in particular, the Gin and Pastis from our gardens.

Composed of a selection of 12 botanicals and spices, our Gin from our gardens takes you on a journey through our gardens on the limestone plateaus of Périgord. Aromatic herbs such as thyme, rosemary, oregano, lavender, and juniper are organically grown on our farm. Pink peppercorns, cardamom, and citrus fruits are sourced from organic farms.

The gourmet recipe for Pastis from our gardens gives pride of place to the plants of our gardens: hyssop, chamomile, verbena, lavender, … spices and a spoonful of honey from Périgord, which gives it a magnificent golden color.

We also offer limited editions, such as the comforting Winter Gin, whose recipe changes every year depending on the harvests.

In 2024, we're launching a new product: Picadis – The Vermouth from our gardens. We created it in collaboration with Domaine Combrillac and their Rosette wine. The Rosette appellation, located in the Bergerac wine region, is one of the smallest French appellations, covering just 25 hectares. We crafted this mellow wine with the bitterness of yarrow, lemon, wormwood, and gentian. The bitterness is balanced by the sweetness of fresh raspberry and honey. It can be enjoyed neat over ice, in cocktails, or as a vermouth tonic for a refreshing summer drink !

Free visit and tasting all year round (by appointment from September to June and Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm from July to September)

A magnificent discovery. A true delight for both the nose and palate. Subtle and delicate aromas. A unique Pastis with a long, lingering finish. Bravo for this creation.

Garden Gin is simply incredible! An olfactory delight, a touch of magic for cocktails. This winter gin embodies the warmth and spices we love to enjoy by the fireside with a hot chocolate or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Thank you so much for your dedication to crafting your products.
