Montignac-Lascaux Towns, Villages and bastides in Montignac

Montignac-Lascaux is a small attractive town in the black Périgord, crossed by the Vézère river. The two banks have their charm, stroll "right bank" in the small sloping and picturesque alleys with medieval accents. Along the bank, restaurants on stilts offer their terraces, in summer, to taste a regional dish, before going for a stroll by the water and petting the ducks with a piece of bread.

Wednesday morning, all year round, there is a market (as well as Saturday morning, a smaller one). On the square of the Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church, small cafes welcome onlookers and families who come to look for beautiful vegetables and conviviality!

Cross the recently renovated stone bridge, go for a walk "left bank", this is where the shops and the heart of the city await you. Push your investigation to Place Tourny, bordered by plane trees, where a splendid view of the river, the city and the bridge awaits you (as well as good restaurants…).

Cinema, restaurants, local shops and services, hotels and halls of artistic and festive exhibitions, the assets of Montignac-Lascaux do not stop there...

A few minutes walk from the city center, take the Lascaux alley to get there towards the hill of the Lascaux cave and the magnificent International Center of Parietal Art.

In Montignac-Lascaux, there is a nice walk to do along the little Doiran stream (park near the children's play area) and if you like bears, the Regourdou site, a little higher than Lascaux IV is a park and museum on the history of man and nature.
