Canoes Les 7 Rives in Montignac-Lascaux

Canoe and kayak rental Les 7 Rives is based in the center of the town of Montignac-Lascaux, famous for its cave adorned with rock paintings ( Lascaux I and Lascaux IV can be visited all year round) in the heart of the Périgord Noir in Dordogne.

Launching takes place directly from the Les 7 Rives base in Montignac-Lascaux and you let yourself be carried by the gentle currents of the river to Thonac, Saint Léon sur Vézère or Tursac.

• There are 3 routes to choose from: 8, 12 or 20 km.
• And a wide range of boats: from single kayaks to double kayaks, 2, 3, 4 and even 5-seater canoes for families. Stand-up paddleboards are also available for rent by reservation.

Once on board, we pass in front of the town's stilt houses, then under the three Vézère castles overlooking the river, we find vestiges of locks testifying to a prestigious navigation, further on the Templar village of Sergeac comes into view, then the Romanesque church of St-Léon Sur Vézère appears at the whim of a meander and for the most courageous, the troglodyte city of La Roque Saint-Christophe will be the grand finale.

There is no time limit; return buses are organized every hour.
So, you can linger in one of the most beautiful villages in France after disembarking at Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère following a 12 km paddle. You can also bring a picnic for a delicious break and even your swimsuits to cool off…

On the Vézère, you can go canoeing from the age of 5. It is a class I river, so it is calm for most of the year.
Of course, you need to know how to swim, submerge yourself, and wear shoes that fit well on your feet.

Dogs are allowed on the canoes here, there are even dog vests available on request.
Groups and school groups are welcomed and supervised by state-certified instructors upon reservation.

The 7 Rives canoe base is open from the Easter holidays until September 30th, at 9am in July and August and from 10am the rest of the season.
