  Pirate Canoe, pleasant canoe trips to book in Vézac
  What a pleasure to glide on the Dordogne, a calm and safe river accessible to children from 5 years old. Available for rental, the canoes allow 2, 3 or 4 people to navigate, while the kayaks are designed for individuals or duos. Once your life jackets are on, grab your paddles and head to the Canoë Pirate base for a soothing boat trip on the Dordogne. The routes are varied to allow everyone to organize their day according to their desires and energy, with long routes from 2 to 25 km. Itineraries of 2 to 7 days are also offered for the more athletic who can get active on 130 km of river, admiring the fauna and flora that evolve in total freedom. Keep your eyes open to see herons or kingfishers !
  
  Pirate Canoe, the promise of a day full of emotions in Vézac
  After a few paddle strokes, the Valley of the Castles appears, revealing magnificent villages perched between Beynac, Domme or Castelnaud, while the castles strut from the top of their rocky promontory. Take the time to pause to appreciate the beauty of the landscapes that are revealed as you progress. Once the descent is complete, a mini-bus takes you back to the base to return the equipment used. Don't forget to take towels, sunscreen and swimsuits to enjoy the beach of Vézac after the canoe trip. Isolated and green, it is ideal for swimming and relaxing facing the river that flows gently, revealing a few barges from time to time. A picnic is also a good idea for an outdoor lunch in a suitable area shaded by willows and poplars. On site, a snack bar also offers gourmet, homemade meals with a variety of recipes to enjoy without having to cook.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. We paid for 25km trip, cut short because the operator did not have enough people to cover because of the weather. We were then told we would be refunded the difference in price, then that changed to no refund.. Despicable. I then requested to finish the remaining part of the route next day as my daughter was terribly disappointed, but this was not available, they wanted me to pay again for the next day. I generally don't write reviews, but for this outfit I'll gladly make an exception. In fairness the local staff were sympathetic to the situation but the "boss" just ruined what was to be a special day for everyone, and behaved horribly towards these customers. Avoid.

Very poor communications from start to finish. We had to wait at least 45 minutes for the coach to pick us up at the end of the trip. We had young children who were tired and hungry. No explanation was given instead we were herded into an old coach, which looked barely roadworthy. Avoid this canoe company at all costs.
