    • RELAXING CANOEING: CANOE RENTAL ON THE DORDOGNE RIVER

A canoeing experience on the Dordogne

Canoë Détente, located in Saint Vincent de Cosse on the banks of the Dordogne River, offers canoe rentals for exploring the Périgord Noir region. This activity is ideal for outings with family or friends, providing a unique way to discover the region's castles and picturesque villages, some of which are listed among the most beautiful villages in France. The Dordogne, with its calm waters and enchanting landscapes, provides the perfect setting for a canoe trip.

      Routes adapted to all levels

Canoë Détente offers three different routes to suit everyone's preferences. The 3 Castles route starts in Vézac and covers 7 km, allowing you to discover the Château de Fayrac, the Château de Beynac, and the Château des Milandes. This route is ideal for those looking for a short and accessible outing, lasting 1 to 2 hours.

For a slightly longer excursion, the 6 Castles circuit offers a 14 km route starting from La Roque Gageac, passing by iconic sites such as the Pendoilles cliffs, the Château de la Malartrie, the Château de Castelnaud, and the Château de Marqueyssac. This 2-3 hour route allows you to appreciate the diversity of the Périgord landscapes.

Finally, for those who enjoy longer explorations, the 7 Castles circuit starts in Carsac and covers 28 km, with an estimated duration of 4 to 5 hours. This route includes breathtaking views of Montfort Castle, the fortified town of Domme, and other remarkable sites in the Périgord Noir.

Amenities and services for a comfortable outing

All Canoë Détente trips include full equipment for a safe outing: canoes with backrests, life jackets, paddles, and free waterproof containers to protect personal belongings. Departure is by bus from the base located at Port d'Enveaux, with a return trip by canoe to the starting point. The facility also offers on-site amenities such as shaded parking, restrooms, showers, and a picnic area with a children's playground, ensuring a pleasant day out for the whole family.

A setting just like you dream of for a relaxing break

In addition to canoe rentals, Canoë Détente offers a restaurant-bar-brasserie, guest rooms and a beach equipped for relaxing after canoeing.

The well-maintained, partially shaded beach offers a perfect spot for swimming (unsupervised) and relaxing by the river. This natural setting, combined with the on-site facilities, makes Canoë Détente an ideal place to spend a full day outdoors, combining exploration and relaxation.

Discover in the surrounding area: nature, heritage and local flavors

Within a 30km radius of Saint Vincent de Cosse, the Périgord Noir region is brimming with treasures to discover. Hiking enthusiasts can explore a variety of trails, including those leading to the hanging gardens of Marqueyssac or around the cliffs of the Dordogne, offering spectacular views of the valley.

The architectural heritage is also rich, with must-see sites such as the Château de Castelnaud, the Château de Beynac, and the medieval village of Domme. These historically significant places transport visitors back to the medieval era and help them understand the strategic importance of the Dordogne Valley.

For food enthusiasts, the local markets of Sarlat and Saint Cyprien are unmissable opportunities to discover regional products such as foie gras, truffles, and walnuts. Many small producers open their doors for tastings, offering an immersion into the culinary traditions of the Périgord region.

The Périgord Noir is therefore a privileged place to combine sport, culture and gourmet pleasures, all in an exceptional natural setting.
