    • What is the Museum / Bistro "La rue du temps qui passe"?

Imagine being able to step back in time, for a stroll through the shopping streets of the early 20th century. A time when electricity and running water weren't part of everyday life, a time when the automobile was just starting to roll, a time when the knife grinder sharpened your knives in the street, a time when the shoemaker crafted your shoes…

A surprising atmosphere where you can feel the soul of things. As soon as you cross the threshold, you enter another universe where time seems to have stopped; it is not a simple hangar where a whole bunch of old things are piled up, quite the contrary, you stroll through beautiful cobbled streets, strewn with shops, workshops and stalls from the old days with authentic and well-maintained facades, from the time when wood, steel and glass had not yet been replaced by the cold and lifeless materials of the modern world.

It all started with a father and daughter who initiated the creation of spaces recreating scenes from bygone days, initially intended to showcase several vintage automobiles. From this passion was born the most unusual garage in the entire region: a street straight out of the 1900s…

This self-guided walk is accompanied by the completion of the "Certificate of Study" (search for anachronisms)...

The Bistrot is accessible to everyone without a tour, with its terrace overlooking the Dordogne river.

A unique experience for our little family (18-month-old baby and 9-year-old). A truly family-run museum where the grandson warmly welcomed us, sharing the family history and perfectly immersing us in the atmosphere. His mother, never far away, provided unexpected details... and what a joy to discover the very essence of this exceptional museum around every corner! ❤️ Extremely interesting and well-done... the three of us had a magical time! I had contacted them by email in advance of the visit; the response was quick, thorough, and very helpful. The old-fashioned bistro is fantastic, the ice cream delicious, in a superb setting... Baby even got to enjoy the high chair while I tried my hand at writing with India ink and a fountain pen... The only regret is that although we weren't asked to leave, the two-hour morning visit flew by. We wanted a perfect score 😜 and we even forgot to sign the guestbook 🥺 Make the most of your time exploring this gem 💖 And see you next year to celebrate your 10th anniversary!!!!
