Go canoeing down the Dordogne

The Dordogne is a river that can be easily navigated with family or friends, even when you are a beginner! This is the great strength of the Dordogne, offering the discovery of this sporting and leisure activity for everyone ( from 5 years old ). During your holidays in Périgord Noir, the essential activity to do is a canoe or kayak descent. Canoë Détente is a canoe base that has existed here for more than 20 years, but the whole family settled there in 1887! Ideally located, Port d'Enveaux is a pretty place to discover, which runs along an arm of the Dordogne, in a very picturesque environment. A little off the beaten track, there are fewer people in summer than in the center of the large tourist villages nearby. You can park easily and for free all day.

Canoë Détente offers you 3 routes depending on the time you have, your desires and your physical condition!

• The Circuit des 3 Châteaux is 7 km long, you will need about 1h30 to 2h to complete this route. You will pass in front of the Château de Fayrac, the Château de Beynac on its rocky promontory and the Château des Milandes which is located opposite the canoe base.

• The Circuit des 6 Châteaux is 14 km long, allow half a day to do it at your own pace. After having skirted beautiful rocky escarpments, you will pass in front of Roque Gageac, then you will pass the Château de la Malartrie, to then reach Castelnaud and its castle which sits proudly in front of the waves, and finally the Marqueyssac Gardens which can be seen far away. You then rejoin the previous route.

• The Circuit des 7 Châteaux is 28 km long, count on a good day of adventure and sport! You will leave from Carsac to discover a little sailed part of the Dordogne, wild and intimate. Rocks, cliffs, birds… Small islands to play Robinson! The Château de Monfort stands in a bend in the river (a meander), then the Rocher de Caudon greets you, it overlooks the water. La Bastide de Domme looms in the distance, then you join the previous circuits at La Roque Gageac.
  
  

During the activity it will be necessary to wear a life jacket (provided). The price also includes a waterproof container, a paddle per person and the minibus trip to the starting point. The great advantage of organizing trips with Canoë Détente is that you are dropped off upstream, so you can return to the base by canoe, at your own pace, at the time you want! No need to wait for the bus or calculate your return time...
