The castles of the Dordogne Valley await you, offering the most beautiful viewpoint : from the river Espérance. Come rent a canoe or kayak in the charming village of La Roque-Gageac and set off on a trip down the Dordogne, from 2 to 25 km, depending on your chosen route.

Canoë Dordogne is located in the village center of La Roque Gageac. You will be provided with a life jacket and a waterproof container for your belongings, then off you go! Some departures are self-guided from the base, allowing you to paddle down the river on a set route or to a location of your choosing. Four other routes are available:

• La Roque Gageac – Les Milandes: 9km with return bus
• Vitrac – Les Milandes: 16km with bus departure and return
• Carsac – La Roque Gageac: 16 km with bus service
• Carsac – Les Milandes: 25km with departure and return by bus

The routes are very comprehensive; you'll discover the Valley of the Castles, but also the flora and fauna, the landscapes, and the wild nature of the Dordogne Valley. Cliffs, the Monfort meander, fortified towns in the distance, and perched gardens and villages (Beynac, Domme, Castelnaud, etc.). The descents are made at the flow of the water; the Dordogne is a beautiful, stable river, and the navigation conditions are excellent.

Good to know: Multi-day trips (2 to 7 days) are available on the river, which offers 130 km of navigable waterways, for €24 per day. You can camp respectfully along the route or find campsites or guesthouses; the Canoë Dordogne team will be there to advise you.
