    • THE TEA ROOM AT THE SARDY GARDENS IN VÉLINES

A natural setting and a terrace with a view

Located in the heart of the Sardy Gardens, the Sardy Gardens tea room offers a peaceful setting for a delightful break. Accessible to garden visitors, it unfolds on a shaded terrace overlooking the Dordogne Valley. Beneath the canopy of a large oak tree, visitors can enjoy a relaxing moment amidst manicured vegetation and a harmonious environment.

A gourmet break with authentic flavors

The tea room offers a selection of homemade cakes made with local ingredients. Specialties include lemon sponge cake, chocolate cake, gingerbread, and prune far from the Southwest. For those who prefer something refreshing, a range of ice creams and frozen fruits is available.

The drinks menu includes a selection of locally produced teas and infusions. Visitors can also discover Sardy's sparkling verbena, a homemade, unsweetened, and refreshing drink made with verbena from the garden, mint, and ginger. Wine lovers can sample the Bergerac red AOC wines made from grapes grown on the estate and aged in Sardy's cellars.

A place for relaxation and sharing

Sardy's tea room is designed to offer a moment of calm, in harmony with the surrounding nature. The serene atmosphere, enhanced by the scent of flowers and the panoramic view over the Dordogne valley, invites contemplation and the discovery of local flavors.

      Practical information

Access to the tea room is reserved for visitors to the Jardins de Sardy. It is open during the same hours as the gardens.

WHAT TO DISCOVER IN THE AREA NEAR THE SARDY GARDENS

      Villages and heritage

In the surrounding area, several charming villages are worth a visit. Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, a bastide town founded in the 13th century, is distinguished by its half-timbered houses and its traditional Saturday morning market. Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its vineyards and historical monuments, including the monolithic church carved into the limestone rock.

      Hiking and nature

Those who enjoy walks will find several hiking trails offering remarkable views of the Dordogne Valley and the vineyard-covered hillsides. The greenway along the river allows for gentle exploration on foot or by bicycle.

      Local markets and producers

The region abounds with small producers offering local products : wines, cheeses, walnuts, honey, and artisanal jams. Local markets, such as those in Bergerac, Castillon-la-Bataille, and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, are an opportunity to discover fresh produce and chat with passionate producers.

The Dordogne, a river to explore

The Dordogne offers numerous water activities. Canoe trips allow you to admire the landscapes from the water, while barge cruises offer another perspective on the riverside villages.

By combining nature, heritage and gastronomy, the region around the Gardens of Sardy brings together all the assets for an authentic discovery of the Périgord.
