  Interesting site, with a nice guide. Place is a founded by a amateur who found a hole" found magalitic cromagnon skull and artifacts. All shown Actual bears are kept as well. Also a place to order drinks and food is at the location.

  I really liked the simplicity of this site and how we could see where the actual neanderthal was found. Especially compared to the sophistication and commercialisation of Lascaux 4. I also thought the guide was phenomenal. She was coordinating visitors arriving at different times and was very enthusiastic and knowedgeable. She translated for me at the end of each session. HOWEVER.. I visited the site out of my interest in the neanderthal burial - NOT the bears. Yet the bears were the overriding presentation of Regourdou to an extreme degree. ( and in this day and age their conditions were rather sad and depressing) Is this a professional neanderthal site or a zoo?

  Interesting tribute to amateur archaeologist, Roger Constant, who began excavating on his farm near Lascaux. Also some really adorable bears!!
