    • CHÂTEAU LESTEVENIE: A WINE EXPERIENCE IN THE HEART OF THE PÉRIGORD POURPRE

      A historic and enchanting estate

Château Lestevenie, located in Gageac-et-Rouillac in the heart of the Bergerac vineyards, invites you to discover all the richness and diversity of the terroir of the Périgord Pourpre.

Nestled in a renowned wine region, the estate offers a unique experience blending tradition and modernity. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the history and natural beauty of this charming place.

History and heritage of Lestevenie Castle

The history of Château Lestevenie is deeply rooted in the terroir of the Périgord Pourpre. This family estate embodies a sincere passion for the vine and a profound respect for ancestral traditions.

The Terblanche family, originally from South Africa, took over the estate in February 2022, bringing with them a blend of expertise and passion for winemaking. Their journey, marked by destiny, love, and chance, has led them to make this place a space dedicated to winemaking excellence.

      An exceptional terroir

Château Lestevenie benefits from a unique terroir, composed of limestone and clay-limestone soils, perfectly suited to the cultivation of vines.

The carefully tended vines produce grapes of exceptional quality, allowing the production of wines with subtle and complex aromas.

The estate produces Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) wines: Bergerac red, white and rosé, as well as Saussignac, each vintage reflecting the typical characteristics of the Bergerac terroir.

Expertise & respect for the environment

At Château Lestevenie, winemaking is an art that combines traditional know-how and modern techniques.

The cultivation and production methods are part of a sustainable viticulture approach, limiting the impact on the environment.

The grapes are harvested by hand, then carefully processed during fermentation and aging in vats or barrels. This rigorous approach guarantees high-quality wines that fully express the potential of the terroir.

      Award-winning and renowned wines

The wines of Château Lestevenie have received numerous awards, a testament to their quality and unique character.

Each bottle tells a story—the story of an estate where passion and expertise combine to offer authentic and elegant wines. Whether for tasting or to accompany a meal, these wines will delight both amateurs and connoisseurs.

Activities & events at the estate

Château Lestevenie offers a variety of immersive activities centered around vines and wine. Guided tastings allow visitors to discover the estate's different vintages.

Events are organised throughout the year, such as picnics in the vineyards, country lunches or unforgettable summer evenings.

What a beautiful afternoon overlooking the vineyard! We loved the massive hearty charcuterie board, the adorable dog Roxy and the excellent reception. We walked away with two bottles after a complete tasting. In short, a perfect experience!
