Mareuil is a town located in Périgord Vert , in lush greenery, near the Charente . It is a village which enjoys the presence of a very beautiful castle , having belonged to a baron, it is one of the 4 baronies of Périgord (with Beynac , Biron and Bourdeilles )

You can walk through the village and find out more about its heritage and tourist points of interest by following the interpretation panels . They are 16 in number and the visit begins at the town hall square . You will know more about the strategic position of Mareuil , about the old barony and the vestiges of this time. Several loops and hikes also pass through Mareuil, it is an ideal place for walking. 6 hiking loops in Mareuil have been set up around the village, in the form of a discovery circuit . For children, a Tèrra Aventura circuit is in place in the village, Zekid, Prince of Thieves.
