The castle protects the village which is located at one of the geographical "gates" of Périgord.
It is one of the 4 baronies of Périgord, a fortress often altered and in particular rebuilt by Geoffroi de Mareuil in the 15th century.
It contains elements of defense and Renaissance mixed which make it a somewhat anachronistic fortress, but not devoid of charm!
Visit the "flamboyant Gothic" style chapel, the main building, the old keep whose staircase provides access to the council chamber ....
