To the west of the department, on the border with the Charente, the Municipality of La Rochebeaucourt-et-Argentine is located on the outskirts of the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park. It is a limestone plateau offering an atypical environment. It is a major site of the park, classified "Natura 2000". The Argentinian Plateau has long been exploited in limestone quarries. Nature has now taken back its rights and it is a very preserved environment that is offered to you. The Argentine Plateau Discovery Trail is a 4.6 km hiking loop. You will surprise many birds and reptiles there. During the spring, you can contemplate wonderful wild orchids.
