  • English
    • Known as the “capital” of Périgord Vert in Dordogne, Ribérac is a perfect blend of history, nature and the good life.

      A bit of history

Founded in the 11th century by Arnaud Daniel, a famous troubadour, Ribérac has a rich history. It was marked by Norman invasions and saw the construction of fortifications as well as the foundation of a priory in the 9th century.

What to see and do in Ribérac?

      • The historic center : stroll through the cobbled streets and admire the half-timbered houses typical of Périgord.
      • The church of Saint-Martin de Ribérac : this 12th century religious building is a must-see in the town.
      • The Grand Étang de la Jemaye : for nature lovers, this pond offers numerous water activities and beautiful walks.
      • The local markets are not to be missed to discover the local products of Périgord.

In short, Ribérac is an ideal destination for those who wish to discover the charm of the French countryside and enjoy a relaxing and cultural stay.

This tourist office, and its team, are well worth discovering and are located in a beautiful setting (the former gendarmerie in Ribérac). The welcome was warm and professional. We received plenty of information and valuable advice.
