    • FAYOLLE CASTLE: The unexpected IN Périgord

      A remarkable architectural heritage

The Château de Fayolle, located in Tocane-Saint-Apre, in the Périgord Vert, is a precious witness to the architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries.

This majestic residence, listed as a Historical Monument (ISMH), stands proudly in a verdant 55-hectare park, offering a deep immersion in the history and culture of the region.

Built in 1766 on the foundations of a medieval building, the Château de Fayolle reflects the elegance and refinement of its time.

Its two main buildings, completed in 1766 and 1893 respectively, bear witness to the architectural and artistic developments that marked past centuries. The consecrated chapel, the sumptuous reception rooms, and the period theatre add to the castle's rich heritage.

      An enchanting natural setting

The Château de Fayolle is nestled in the heart of a 55-hectare park, offering unspoiled nature ideal for relaxation and walks. The vast green spaces and gardens provide breathtaking views of the various parts of the château. The park is a true haven of peace, inviting contemplation and the discovery of local flora.

The castle grounds also include historic outbuildings, including a dovecote and farm buildings, bearing witness to rural life in bygone days.

The shaded walkways and winding paths allow visitors to stroll at their own pace, enjoying the natural beauty of the place.

THE NEW OWNERS OF FAYOLLE CASTLE: A NEW ERA

Grégory and Florence Mangeret are the new owners of the Château de Fayolle, marking a significant turning point in the history of this sublime residence.

After belonging to a single family for over 900 years, the castle was acquired by this passionate couple on March 13, 2024.

Florence, originally from Ribéracois in the Périgord Vert, and Grégory, founder of Productions Adonis specializing in the organization of high-profile public events in the entertainment and cultural fields, saw in this project much more than a simple real estate acquisition.

Their love for the Périgord Vert and their desire to revive an exceptional heritage led them to the Château de Fayolle.

For them, this castle represents a dream come true and a heartfelt mission: to restore the property to its former beauty and glory. The couple aims to open the castle to the public in April 2025, despite the ongoing restoration work. They hope to offer an authentic immersion in the 19th century, allowing visitors to travel back in time.

Grégory and Florence Mangeret plan to make the Château de Fayolle a true living space, in tune with its time, while celebrating its illustrious past.

They aspire to share their love for the Périgord Vert and to transform this architectural gem into a dynamic and welcoming place, open to all.

I first visited this castle during an urban exploration trip in September 2025, and then rediscovered it a few months later as part of my photography work. Each visit left a lasting impression on me. It was a wonderful encounter with the owners and the entire team; the welcome was warm and genuine, a far cry from impersonal tours. I then had the chance to do a photoshoot there with Uber and Narco, the castle's mascots 🐕🐕... a truly joyful and unforgettable moment. A magnificent place, steeped in history, vibrant, and above all, brought to life by passionate people. I'm delighted to have been able to discover (and rediscover) this beautiful castle in such different contexts.
