      A remarkable architectural heritage

The Château de Fayolle, located in Tocane-Saint-Apre, in the Périgord Vert, is a precious witness to the architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries.

This majestic residence, listed as a Historic Monument (ISMH), stands proudly in a verdant 55-hectare park, offering a deep immersion in the history and culture of the region.

Built in 1766 on the foundations of a medieval building, the Château de Fayolle reflects the elegance and refinement of its time.

Its two main buildings, completed in 1766 and 1893 respectively, bear witness to the architectural and artistic developments that have marked past centuries. The consecrated chapel, the sumptuous salons and the period theatre add to the château's rich heritage.

      An enchanting natural setting

Fayolle Castle is nestled in the heart of a 55-hectare park, offering unspoiled nature ideal for relaxation and strolling. The vast green spaces and gardens offer breathtaking views of the various parts of the castle. The park is a true haven of peace, inviting contemplation and discovery of the local flora.

The castle grounds also house historic outbuildings, including a dovecote and farmhouses, bearing witness to rural life in the past.

Shaded walkways and winding paths allow visitors to stroll at their own pace, enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

THE NEW OWNERS OF THE CHÂTEAU DE FAYOLLE: A NEW ERA

Gregory and Florence Mangeret are the new owners of the Château de Fayolle, marking a significant turning point in the history of this sublime residence.

After belonging to a single family for over 900 years, the castle was acquired by this passionate couple on March 13, 2024.

Florence, originally from Ribéracois in the Périgord Vert, and Grégory, founder of Productions Adonis, specializing in the organization of high-profile public events in the field of entertainment and culture, saw in this project much more than a simple real estate acquisition.

Their love for the Périgord Vert and their desire to revive an exceptional heritage guided them towards the Château de Fayolle.

For them, this château represents a dream come true and a mission of the heart: to restore this property to its former beauty and glory. The couple aims to open the château's doors to the public as early as April 2025, despite the ongoing restoration work. They aim to offer an authentic immersion in the 19th century, allowing visitors to travel back in time.

Gregory and Florence Mangeret plan to make the Château de Fayolle a true living space, in tune with its time, while celebrating its illustrious past.

They aspire to share their love for the Périgord Vert and to transform this architectural gem into a dynamic and welcoming place, open to all.

      Discovering the surrounding area

The Périgord Vert is full of sites of interest to discover within a 30-kilometer radius of the Château de Fayolle.

Local specialties, such as foie gras, truffles, and cheeses, will delight gourmets.

Among the tourist sites not to be missed are Périgueux, with its rich architectural heritage and museums, and Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. The Brantôme Abbey also offers enriching visits for history and heritage enthusiasts.

      Also not to be missed:

Ribérac, located in the heart of the Périgord Vert, is renowned for its lively weekly market and its architectural treasures, including the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix church.

Saint-Astier, on the banks of the Isle, is a picturesque town in the Périgord Blanc, famous for its traditional market and its fortified Romanesque church.

Bourdeilles, one of the jewels of the Périgord Vert, is known for its medieval and Renaissance castle, as well as its charming cobbled streets.

The surroundings of the Château de Fayolle are an invitation to discovery and escape, offering a perfect balance between nature, culture and gastronomy.

Who believes in love at first sight? However, it was the flash of an unfailing passion that saved this beautiful residence from abandonment... Rebuilt in 1766 on the foundations of a medieval building, the Château de Fayolle remains a living testament to the refinement and elegance of the Age of Enlightenment. Twenty minutes from Périgueux and in the heart of a 55-hectare wooded and landscaped estate, it has preserved a unique identity in the Périgord Vert region through its successive restorations. The castle is once again the center of attention with Grégory and Florence Mangeret, who fell under the spell of the centuries-old stones and decided to tell their thousand and one stories through the architectural wonders that mark the visit: a period theater, finely wooded halls, a sacred chapel and much more.
