La commune de St-André d’Allas se caractérise par un vaste domaine forestier composé essentiellement de châtaigniers, entrecoupé de pinèdes, de prairies coiffants des plateaux ou bien, tapissant vallons et vallées. Si, de tout temps, la commune a tiré ses ressources de la terre, son implantation privilégiée entre Sarlat et Les Eyzies, la fait aujourd’hui se tourner de plus en plus vers de nouvelles activités liées au tourisme.
