Murder Party in Périgueux: Who killed one of Périgueux’s great chefs?

Become an investigator for an hour and a half and embark on an immersive adventure through the streets of the Périgord town, like a giant Cluedo puzzle. Your missions, should you choose to accept them: solve puzzles, gather clues, and savor the delights of the Périgord to unmask the culprit of the day's crime.

The investigation begins!

The sun is shining when the Périgord Guide arrives at the Mataguerre Tower, in the heart of Périgueux. The cold has given way to spring temperatures. It's the perfect opportunity to try out the Périgueux Tourist Office 's new gourmet Murder Party before the general public.

So, surrounded by three members of the office, we set off together to hunt for secrets from the Mataguerre Tower. We are all eager to play and discover who is the culprit.

The game mistress gives us several items to start today's Murder Party:

A notebook with a map of the city, historical sections, investigative evidence, puzzles to solve...
A notepad and a pencil to jot down all our ideas along the way.
The identity cards of the victim and the potential murderers with their characteristics.
A blue lamp (like in CSI!).
A mirror.

We are ready!

On the trail of the crime

From the very first reading, we are put in the situation: a leader has been assassinated and it is up to us to find his murderer or murderers. We decide to carefully read each identity card to learn more about all the characters in the story. Everyone already suspects one or the other, but no one is sure of anything. We will have to be rigorous and pragmatic to lift the veil on the secrets of the investigation.

As you might expect, we're not going to reveal the highlights of the Murder Party. However, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the historic streets of Périgueux. Look up to see, among other things, and in no particular order:

But that's not all! The tourist office and its partners offer blind tastings of the region's most prestigious dishes. Will you be able to discover the ingredients? That's the goal, because otherwise, you won't get the next clue!

Clue hunting and deductions

Once again, we won't dwell on the Murder Party so as not to spoil the fun. Without going into detail, prepare your brains, it's going to be hot!

Coded messages, riddles, tastings, interactions with locals, crossword puzzles... All enhanced by historical moments to learn all about the monuments around you. Official investigation papers, statements, and irrefutable evidence are there to lead you straight to the person or people responsible.

Things are gradually becoming clearer, but not so fast! Are you sure someone else isn't the culprit? What if there were several of them?

Don't hesitate to take stock as a group to eliminate suspects one by one. The notepad also allows you to jot down each clue and your current intuitions.

After traipsing through the city, it's time to decide who killed the big boss. Some are convinced they've found him, while others are still unsure. Despite the evidence, could there be a trap?

The big moment has arrived! The game mistress pulls the confidential letter from her bag, hiding the name(s) of the culprits. We're all eager to find out if we've been perceptive or rather off our game.

SPOILER ALERT: The Périgord Guide was happy to be among the victorious investigators.

The investigation was fast-paced right to the end. We were left in suspense, never really suspecting how the investigation would unfold.
