A large castle, 8 centuries of history

The history of the Château de Tiregand stretches over 8 centuries, but the current castle dates from the ^18th century. It was remodeled in the 19th ^century by the La Panouse family, making it a veritable pleasure chateau for hosting and organizing large receptions. It is this festive and convivial spirit that one feels when approaching the large English-style entrance dome, but of neo-classical inspiration, which one passes to enter the castle. It is the architect Louis Garros who is at the origin of this superb set comprising no less than 45 pieces! As soon as you enter, you are struck by a monumental spiral staircase in solid mahogany and red Languedoc marble. This central vestibule serves as the function between the two parts of the castle, the corner pavilions and its main body. From room to room, we cross the ages, thanks to the wallpapers, tapestries and period furniture... The castle is " in its own juice ", but connoisseurs will immediately see its potential!

Château de Tiregand was acquired in the spring of 2022 by Louis Guyot, 25, son of Catherine and Jacques Guyot , owners of Château de Marzac in Les Eyzies, in Périgord Noir. Their daughter Alice Guyot owns the Château de Bridoire, between Bergerac and Monbazillac. This remarkable family of endangered heritage enthusiasts has once again made a rescue, giving this place the chance to be renovated, enhanced and above all opened to the public in a more than attractive form for the whole family. while keeping its authenticity...

Visit of the Château de Tiregand… We rack our brains

At the Château de Tiregand, there is no question of taking an audio guide or following a guided tour wisely. No, no, you're going to rack your brains as a family, go on an adventure, play an immersive treasure hunt that will take you in the footsteps of Arsène Lupin, the gentleman burglar ! This fictional character lends itself perfectly to the atmosphere of this romantic castle, with its beautiful volumes , its multiple corners, its rows of endless rooms and its mysterious outbuildings... Like a giant Cluedo or a life-size Escape Game, you will follow a track, look for puzzles, but you will not be alone to get there...

Enter the castle without fear and immerse yourself for 2 hours in a whimsical and bewitching world... 6 professional actors populate the rooms of the castle, visitors / players move from one place to another and must solve puzzles to find objects or look for solutions during their police investigation… The actors are there to immerse you in an era and the scenario offered by the game. They are also there to give you a hand, a little help in case of problem to find clues! The gardener, the maid, the Marquise's daughter, the Countess... Look, poke around, open your eyes and the visit will take place on its own, for the whole family. Go through secret passages, underground passages... To design the game, arrange the sets and the different spaces, Louis Guyot did not have to look far for his inspiration... Indeed, the former owners of the castle (the Saint-Exupérys, present since 1823 but who had not lived there since 2010) were music lovers, lovers of art in all its forms: musical instruments and scores, paintings, several libraries, everything remained there, so that your amazed eyes could embrace each scene, authentic and true! You will also enjoy visiting the exteriors: a romantic park, shaded terraces, the curious Cour des Ostriches, an orange grove and its charming chapel and, at the end of the garden, a superb belvedere and its Louis XVI music pavilion overlooking the Valley. of the Dordogne and the Château de Pile. An interior courtyard in a wing of the chateau also leads to outbuildings, with stables, large coach sheds and tack room, which will immerse you in a very ^19th century universe.

Each school holiday, the Château de Tiregand opens its doors with special and thematic visits depending on the season. Halloween, Christmas, Easter… At each visit, something new! A wine château that still produces wine on its estate

Although Louis Guyot bought the château, its outbuildings and part of the estate (that is to say the part that you will visit during the games and the visit), the wine-growing activity continues. The Saint-Exupéry family perpetuates the production of an excellent Pécharmant on the family estate. Valued by the “ High Environmental Quality ” label, the cultivation of vines is responsible with regard to the environment. Several types of wine are produced on the estate: 4 Pécharmant which is the appellation of this wine region in Creysse, 2 Grand Millésime cuvées, 1 Clos Montalbanie and 1 dry Bergerac Blanc. Some of them have been rewarded at the Concours Général Agricole Parisien, with bronze and silver medals. These are wines produced on gravel soil, fruity and invigorating. Some of the estate's vines are over 58 years old, giving reds with accents of morello cherry, fleshy, with good length in the mouth.
