Les Oies du Périgord Noir Discover life on a family farm in the Périgord region

Established in January 2000, we are the fourth generation to develop this family farm. On our farm, you can discover and share in our work as breeders, raisers, force-feeders, and preservers. We will explain the life of the Toulouse Grey Goose, specially selected for its suitability for meat and foie gras production. On our farm , you will discover the entire process from A to Z, starting with our breeding geese and culminating in a tasting of our products.

You can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside and the advantages of the city without its nuisances in our cottages 10 minutes from Sarlat with a relaxation area at your disposal 500 meters from our accommodations on reservation.

Summer visits are from Tuesday to Friday at 10:00 AM by reservation only. For visits the rest of the year or for groups, please contact us (06 86 73 80 38). Tours will be organized throughout the week.

Come and discover our farm, located 10 minutes from Sarlat, and our work as breeders, raisers, force-feeders, and preservers. We process our preserves ourselves using traditional methods.

LIFE ON OUR FARM

Our day-old goslings arrive at our farm. We keep them warm in one of our buildings at around 30°C. This is the most delicate period because we have to manage the temperature, feed (we also grow organic cereals to supplement our geese's daily commercial feed), water, and their first outings, which will take place around 2 to 3 weeks of age, depending on the season. We grow some of the cereals our geese eat, and our soil cultivation methods are organic.

Over the past few years, we have planted more than 2,000 trees and shrubs on our farm.

Next, these goslings are led into grassy areas. But, at nightfall, they return to their building because of predators, and this continues until they are 14 to 18 weeks old.
