About

  • English
    • Burned down in 1944 by the Germans, this site was the filming location for the movie "Le Tatoué" (The Tattooed Man) starring Louis de Funès and Jean Gabin. Located just 5km from Sarlat and very close to Souillac, it features a majestic dovecote, entrance porch, chapel, Renaissance fountain, panoramic terraces, a large well, a grotto, Renaissance and medieval sections, a retrospective on traditional crafts, and a unique underground escape passage. Free parking.

"As a native son, I have put all my strength and passion into bringing this fortress back to life." Etienne Cluzel - your visit encourages me in this regard.
