Brewery of La Chanoine 100% organic craft beers in Périgord Noir

LA BRASSERIE DU CANOINE PRODUCES ARTISANAL ORGANIC BEERS IN PériGORD NOIR

At the foot of the superb Hautefort castle, in the village of the same name, is the Chanoine artisan brewery. Brewed by a couple from Périgourdins who returned to their roots after 20 years of seasoning on and under water. The project was launched in December 2015.

The beers from Brasserie du Chanoine are all 100% organic, from the beginning. It is ECOCERT certified. This is one of the spearheads of brewers: working in the most natural way possible with quality products, for authentic and powerful flavors. The labels are designed by a local graphic designer and illustrator and printed by a local green printing company. Beer production is continuous, all year round and you can find their beers in the Biocoop network in the Dordogne and the region in general. They are also distributed in local producer stores and in certain delicatessens. But the simplest and most fun thing is to go to Hautefort to the craft brewery shop (closed in January, open from February to June from Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the open season from Tuesday to Saturday at the same times). On site, of course, you will find all the beers from the Brasserie du Chanoine, which are available in small or large bottles. You will also find some references to organic wines from the department and local products.

Guided tours of the craft brewery are possible by appointment outside the summer period and on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in July and August.

• La Blonde du Chanoine (Light and floral blonde rather typical Belgian)
• Ephemeral (Blonde, American pale ale, fruity hops that change regularly)
• La Dame Blanche du Chanoine (Hoppy, fruity and refreshing white)

• Maya La Belle (Amber with honey)
• Bitter Superior (English amber IPA)
• La Narcose (A triple hopped)
• Idée Noire (a brown Irish Stout)

The beers from La Brasserie du Chanoine are also available in seasonal versions ("Summer is coming") and unique vintages (currently "la slap" a winter blonde), these are regular little surprises. Brewers like to test new recipes, have fun and offer something new to their customers.
