    • It is in the heart of the Monbazillac terroir, on a hill overlooking the banks of the Dordogne and the historic city of Bergerac , that the wines of Château Grande Maison have been produced for decades, exceptional organic wines.

The estate was taken over in 2012 by Jean-Louis and Benjamin Chabrol. Always in a qualitative perspective, the entire production is subject to the rules of organic farming to which is added the biodynamic method, which allows our wines to express all their character and the best of this terroir.

EXCEPTIONAL ORGANIC WINES OF BERGERAC AND MONBAZILLAC

      Vineyard: 14 hectares

It is in the heart of the Monbazillac terroir, on a hill overlooking the banks of the Dordogne and the historic city of Bergerac , that the wines of Château Grande Maison have been produced for decades, exceptional organic wines. This old 13th century fortified house has the qualities of a unique environment:

      • The general exposure is due south and all the plots are on more or less accentuated slopes.
      • Its pond in the heart of the estate is an exceptional asset for promoting botrytis, this fungus which makes Monbazillac unique and rich.
      • Clay-limestone soil with an outcrop of silica allowing the white wines to have a certain freshness.

Always in a qualitative perspective, the entire production is subject to the rules of organic farming to which is added the biodynamic method, which allows our wines to express all their character and the best of this terroir. Among the 14 hectares of vines on the estate, 10 are cultivated with white vines (60% semillon, 25% sauvignon, 15% muscadelle) and 4 with red vines (90% merlot, cabernet-franc).

The harvest is done manually with several successive sorting for the Monbazillac . The wines are matured partly in stainless steel vats and mainly in new barrels.

A pretty 13th century house welcomes you every day except Sunday to taste our wines in the pure tradition and share our know-how with you: from 8:30 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 7 pm.

For a more in-depth knowledge of our field, I invite you to consult our website .

Wines: Monbazillac, Bergerac red, Bergerac blanc, Côte de Bergerac red and Bergerac Rosé.

Good people drink good wine! A wonderful place that you want to return to, and the view of the castle adds magic to it. Excellent wine, you can taste each of the wines, and wonderful, attentive winery owners who speak three languages will tell you about the taste, features and manufacturing techniques. You can also see how the wine is made. If you want to drink wine that has a soul and spend time in great company and in a beautiful green place - highly recommend, love, love!

Stopped here over the summer. Had a very warm welcome, lovely location and really nice tasting room. The wine was superb too - if we had more room in the car we would have bought more! Some very special wines here. We particularly liked the vintage of monsters, worth the extra money! Thanks for the wonderful experience - which we enjoyed despite our 6 month old trying to crawl all over the place!

Not my first time visit here, we did many times. We even made the white wine from here for our wedding party in 2017. Great taste and they always have something new everytime we visit here. Very innovative taste and we love it so much. Very friendly and they always try to give you the best of it. Thank you Grande Maison. See you next summer again.
