Hamburgers, matured meats, smoked, confit, fries (homemade, of the day and with goose fat), roasted camembert and gourmet desserts, all the classics of English pubs and French bistros are gathered at O' St Cantereau in Ajat. Pretty little town between Thenon in Périgord Noir and Cubjac on the edge of Périgord Vert, you come here by chance, but then you come back often!
The quality dishes are cooked with love and know-how and to taste them, sit down in the room with its warm atmosphere or on the large and pleasant terrace with its sofas, on sunny days. This is an authentic Perigord restaurant , serving good craft beer on tap. The plates are hearty and made from the most local and fresh ingredients possible. The homemade sauces brighten up, spice up and enhance the dishes in a superb way. And at the end of the evening, syrups, rum, digestives...
Matured meats, roasted, candied, are a specialty, meat lovers will be delighted. The owners Christelle and Sylvain are as friendly and efficient as their dishes are invigorating and satisfying! They have a smokehouse coming directly from Canada, which allows meat or fish to be smoked from pellets or ramial wood of different species, to give an incomparable taste to their products. The chef also makes his own charcuterie (Coppa, homemade filet mignon, etc.) and a maturing cellar in the restaurant makes it possible to prepare exceptional pieces. Do not hesitate to call several days in advance so that a piece of the butcher is prepared just for you… The O'St Cantereau is a friendly place, a real country restaurant where you can stop to have a good time. Open even in low season, the restaurant delights both locals and holidaymakers. Remember to book because everything is homemade!
