It has been listed among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France" since 1989 and is also a designated Green Holiday Resort. This medieval "new town" possesses all the characteristics of a bastide: a grid plan with its cart tracks and side streets, its central square, and its arcades. Its Gothic church, its narrow streets, and the house known as the "Black Prince's House" are its distinctive features.
