Musée des Bastides Heritage interpretation center in Monflanquin near Périgord

In Monflanquin, one of the most beautiful bastides in southwest France, listed among " The Most Beautiful Villages of France," discover the Bastides Museum, a heritage interpretation center located on the upper floor of the Tourist Office. It is dedicated to the phenomenon of new towns in the Middle Ages that appeared in southwest France between the 13th and 14th centuries.

Explanatory panels (translated into English), models and a new fun family trail will allow you to discover all the modernity of these new cities with checkerboard plans, equipped with a charter of customs, initiating another organization of medieval society.

Guided tours are organized during school holidays or for events.

Open all year round for groups by appointment. A treasure hunt is offered to families during the holidays.

The Bastides Museum also offers an Escape Game, "The 13th Game," where you'll solve puzzles related to the history of the bastide town of Monflanquin.
