Canoe Kayak on the Vézère from Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère with Kanoak
Welcome to Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, one of the most beautiful villages in France! In the Vallée de l'Homme, "Saint-Léon" is a jewel, a village of craftsmen with an exceptional heritage and quality restaurants. It is a very pleasant place for a bucolic stopover, a walk in any season . Positioned between Montignac and Les Eyzies, a high place of prehistory with many tourist and cultural sites, it is the ideal place for a canoe or kayak trip on the Vézère river.
Kanoak offers you the rental of a comfortable canoe or kayak, with family or friends. From the Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère base, 3 routes are available:
Saint-Léon -> La Roque Saint-Christophe: in about 1h15, 5 kilometers of pure beauty, an easy route where nature is generous and the landscapes diversified, it's perfect for starting canoeing or with young children (accompanied by from 5 years).
Saint-Léon -> Tursac: in 2 hours, about 8 kilometers, we will push a little further, pass under the bridge of La Roque, then continue to Tursac to arrive at the foot of the troglodyte village of Madeleine, on a small beach below the second bridge to cross, in Tursac. Perfect if you want a short half-day of sport!
Montignac -> Saint-Léon: This time, we will go upstream by minibus for 3h and 12km of navigation. The landscapes are also very pretty, starting from the Montignac nautical stop (other routes possible from this place), we will pass in front of the Château de Losse, that of Belcayre, both offering an impressive rocky promontory which plunges towards the river. We will then pass in front of the pretty village of Sergeac, then arrived in Saint-Léon, observe the castle and the Romanesque church of the 12th century before disembarking after the metal bridge of Saint-Léon. Another atmosphere, just as pleasant!
Kanoak is a small family structure, which welcomes you in the summer for convivial descents. A waterproof container will be provided and the canoes are comfortable.
