    • At the Moulin de la Rouzique, the guide retraces with you all the history of the place and the stages of paper making through the different rooms by setting in motion different mechanisms of the mill (models, paddle wheel, round shape machine...). In turn, come and activate the paddle wheel and discover a know-how by making your own sheet of paper !

The mission of the mill team is above all to make you discover the gestures related to the manufacture of handmade paper through visits, demonstrations and workshops. During the event days, visitors are also offered meetings with associations, craftsmen and enthusiasts who work on paper-related projects. At the end of your visit, observe a rich collection of watermarks, some of which date back to the Middle Ages.

This mill continues the tradition of paper made of hemp, linen and cotton fibre since the 15th century. At the end of the 19th century, Couze et Saint-Front sheltered up to 13 paper mills on only a few kilometres of the river called the Couze.

      The Mill is :
► a place of experimentation : We have equipped ourselves with a hydraulic press and a new Dutch battery in order to offer workshops and introductory courses in papermaking.
► a specialized shop :La boutique du moulin is dedicated to the world of paper and creation: range of paper from around the world and rag paper, recycled paper items (stationery, jewellery, decoration), bookshop, creative leisure equipment...

      Animations events :
      • Tracking game for children and paper workshops during school holidays.
      • Mills Day on the 3rd weekend of May
      • Heritage Day in September

Find the calendar of events on http://moulin-rouzique.com/agenda/

      OPENING :
From April 1st to the last day of the All Saints' Day holidays
July - August : Every day from 10am to 7pm
April, May, June, September and October : 2pm - 6pm
      Closed on Saturday
Last visit 1 hour before closing time.

Fascinating story of how paper has been made through the use of paper mills. Interactive and educational guide. Great value. But you can only go around the mill via a guided tour so make sure you time your visit to coincide with the tours.

We went to an outdoor food market here. It was really well attended by all the locals and some of the British expats, there was live music and it was all really well enjoyed by families with children and adults. There was a place to buy wine, you're not allowed to bring your own alcohol or food to these events, but prices were not unreasonable. Well worth visiting.

Really interesting and picturesque. The tour is great but all in French. Got to make our own paper.

The last remaining out of four water driven paper mills on this site by the river. It was very interesting to see how the paper is still being made here since the 1500's. I had no idea rags were used...

There were only 7 adults plus 2 children but the informative guide spoke both French and English and involved the children too. A chance for anyone to have a bit of hands on experience making paper...
