Abbaye de Saint-Avit Sénieur Discovering a historic gem of Périgord

The Abbey of Saint-Avit Sénieur is located on a rocky spur not far from Beaumont du Périgord.

Governed by the rule of Saint Augustine, the religious community of Saint-Avit is marked by a strong proximity to the population. Ensuring protection, care and spiritual support, the canons of Saint-Avit have left their mark on the village and the abbey, which is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Compostela in France.

The Abbey of Saint-Avit Sénieur is:

• a place to visit: immerse yourself in history during a visit and discover, thanks to an interpretive trail, the abbey, the legend of Avitus, the life of the canons and the evolution of the landscape.
• evening entertainment: every evening in July and August from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. visitors will be able to enter a mysterious and poetic universe thanks to light projections on the walls of the abbey: the Murmures de Saint-Avit Sénieur.
