Domaine du Grand Jaure in Lembras: a family vineyard in Pécharmant and Rosette

On the sunny slopes of Lembras, near Bergerac, Domaine du Grand Jaure has been cultivating vines since 1920. Bernadette Baudry, the fourth generation of winemakers, perpetuates this family tradition across 18 hectares. The estate produces three emblematic appellations of the Périgord Pourpre region : Pécharmant, Rosette, and dry Bergerac, respecting the terroir and traditional methods.

An authentic terroir cultivated using organic farming methods

The vineyard stretches across the gravelly and siliceous soils typical of the Pécharmant appellation, where the local ferruginous clay, called "tran," gives the red wines their velvety character and deep purple color. The red grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc) are blended to produce a Pécharmant meant for aging, while Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle make up the sweet Rosette, full of freshness and citrus notes, and the dry Bergerac, more vibrant and mineral, ideal as an aperitif or with fish.

To preserve the vitality of the vineyard, a respectful approach rewarded by numerous distinctions (gold medals and stars in the Hachette Guide) over the vintages.

Domaine du Grand Jaure opens its doors every day from Monday to Saturday for on-site tastings.
