A network promoting fine crafts!
In the heart of the Pays des Bastides, the network of "Métiers d'Art du Grand Bergeracois" strives to unite and promote the craftsmen and artists of the territory in order to promote this local economy of the Grand Bergeracois.
By their very nature, the Métiers d'Art preserve a cultural identity so unique to this territory: artistic craftsmanship reproduces centuries-old gestures, transmitted from generation to generation, to which is combined the artistic act which often originates in the immediate environment. Arts and crafts are part of our intangible heritage and the trades that make it up are brought together by a list fixed by a national decree (it counts 281 activities).
To promote the 60 members of the network - craftsmen and artists - the "Réseau des Métiers d'Art du Grand Bergeracois" works to promote their visibility through communication support as well as by carrying out collective actions and via the organization events showcasing the know-how of the Grand Bergerac area.2023: a dazzling year!
Find the craftsmen and artists of the network on the occasion of the European Days of Artistic Professions (JEMA). Organized on April 1 and 2 at the Quai Cyrano-Cloitre des Récollets- de Bergerac, the JEMA will present an exhibition-sale of 17 craftsmen and numerous demonstrations as well as a conference on the ethics of the restorer and a young workshop public to discover the diversity of crafts.
Flagship event of the territory, the Salon Métiers & Arts will celebrate its 14th edition from May 19 to 21, 2023, in Monpazier. A demanding, well-known and recognized fair, it brings together around fifty craftsmen from all over France, in permanent shops and temporary stalls. From paper to leather, from felt to concrete, the Show presents a multitude of professions, materials and know-how. From everyday works to works of art, it is the opportunity to acquire creations to enhance your daily life. It will be embellished with demonstrations, workshops for young people and conferences to discover the secrets and techniques of these trades.Shops and workshops, open all year round
Throughout the picturesque villages of Greater Bergerac, craftsmen and artists open the doors of their workshops and shops. You will be amazed by discovering the richness of their know-how and their creations. Upholsterers, glass and stained-glass artists, ceramists, framers… Enchantment guaranteed thanks to these unique and very specific trades. Workshops and courses are also offered!Who are we ?
The Crafts Network has existed since 2008. First created by the Community of Communes of Pays Beaumontois, it was transferred in 2010 to the Tourist Development Agency of Pays des Bastides then in 2011 to Pays du Grand Bergeracois. Since 2018, it has been a mission of the General Delegation of Greater Bergeracois, a shared service of the Bergerac Agglomeration Community and the Communities of Communes Bastides Dordogne-Périgord, Portes Sud Périgord and Montaigne, Montravel and Gurson.
