About

  • English
    • Eymet is a pretty 13th century bastide, founded in 1256 by Alphonse de Poitiers.
Despite the construction of ramparts in 1320, Eymet was subsequently coveted by lords under English or French influence.
Like Bergerac, Eymet is a bastion of Protestantism, whose fortifications and temples will be demolished under Louis 13.
Discover the central square, its arcades and its typical houses with exposed stone or half-timbered facades. The church, the dungeon whose 14th century square courtyard is the only vestige of the castle and the mill whose bases date from the 13th century.
