A stone's throw from the motorway service area at the Boulazac exit, Saint-Laurent-sur-Manoir, is a restaurant that is worth a visit! Cocottes et Popotes opened in early 2022 with a simple desire: to cook locally, with fresh, seasonal products directly from small local producers. A convenient location, ample parking, a bright and pleasantly decorated room, but the highlight of the show is in the plate and for the taste buds. We'll let you discover the recipe for a convivial moment, for a family meal, a business meeting with group meal, by the way, but we're sure you'll come back!

A local cuisine restaurant in Boulazac

Cocottes et Popotes was born in early 2022, it is a restaurant that offers a chic bistro-style menu with classics (generous salads, gourmet burgers, tasty meats, etc.) but all with local sauce. Here, we eat trout, yes but from Borrèze! From a small fish farm on a human scale. The same goes for the meats, which are sourced locally, because we have very good producers in Périgord… Why look any further? Homemade fries, cut and prepared the same day, salads, cheeses (from the Fromagerie des Croquants in Saint-Cyprien), fresh bread from the Fournil d'Antonne (a few kilometers away), artisanal ice creams, local wines (between the Bergerac wine Duras and Bordeaux, there is no lack of good references).

The restaurant, recently renovated, offers a beautiful space to sit down inside. The industrial-style decoration is enhanced by large bay windows, which overlook a lawned and vegetated space. A large terrace opens on sunny days, to take advantage of the sun's rays. You are not far from the motorway, it is an ideal place to take a break on the road from Bordeaux to Paris, Toulouse. We are also a few minutes from Périgueux, on the road between the Capital of Périgord Blanc and Périgord Vert and Périgord Noir. Cocottes et Popotes is a restaurant run by the family, by restaurant regulars. We feel all the professionalism and the sincere desire to receive well. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, but we also know how to put the small dishes in the big ones, for group or company meals. In this commercial area, business hotels and a future congress center offer interesting prospects for the restaurant which has 3 beautiful meeting rooms.

On the walls, you will appreciate posters and plates of old brands, but also superb photos of aerial views of Périgord, enough to immerse you in the atmosphere and appreciate all the more what awaits you on your plate. In the kitchen, a team of 9 to 12 people awaits you, a passionate chef who likes to work with beautiful and good products, a very well equipped and functional kitchen. The restaurant can accommodate 200 covers per service, you won't have to wait long before being served. I recommend grilled meats, because if you are a fan of good cooking, a real charcoal grill (also local charcoal, say so!) will reveal all the subtleties of these excellent quality and very fresh meats.


What if you then went to discover the pretty town of Périgueux? The Capital of Périgord Blanc, with its ancient old town and its nature, its parks and gardens!

Local Périgord cuisine for curious gourmands

What you will particularly appreciate is the audacity of the menu, mixed with a certain simplicity, to give pride of place to the products. On weekdays at lunchtime, the dish of the day is at an unbeatable price and available in a formula with a gourmet coffee. The appetizers, salads and à la carte dishes are tempting. Fans of local Périgord cuisine will find the traditional Confits de Canard, Enchaud de Porc, peasant salad… We also recommend that you let yourself be tempted by the dishes that highlight roasting and beautiful cuts. We fell in love with a Côte de Cochon, soft and generous, accompanied by homemade fries, as well as an amazing Croquiflette with thinly sliced Périgord chicken, braised fennel, melting walnut tomme cheese, all in a small casserole dish. The burgers are very tasty, with perfectly crunchy and tender breaded chicken (real pieces!). The trout will flatter the taste buds of fish lovers, the roasted camembert accompanied by local charcuterie from Maison Vaux Sarladaise has nothing to envy to the rest of the menu... The dishes change approximately every month, because Cocottes et Popotes has a clientele as local than its products, which comes back often!


We're getting high! On the way for the exclusive visit of the roofs of the Saint-Front cathedral in Périgueux! Book quickly to enjoy it too!

In the evening (and also during the day of course), opt for a board with friends, at aperitif time, sit down on the terrace or on the platform at the entrance (in the comfortable armchairs ). Charcuterie and cheese boards, sausage … We haven't talked about the desserts yet! They are all homemade, simple and well executed. The tiramisus are melting, the lemon meringue tarts are tangy and crunchy, the homemade ice creams are creamy and the gourmet coffee, just perfect!

The entire Cocottes et Popotes team awaits you from Monday to Saturday, for lunch and dinner. Remember to book if you are numerous or if you want a specific location.
