Canoes are available for rent and can accommodate 2, 3, or 4 people, while kayaks are designed for individuals or couples. Listen to the advice of the Canoë Pirate team, who will present the various routes, ranging from 2 to 25 km, before you take your first paddle stroke. The river, calm and safe, is accessible to children who can swim from the age of 5. Once you're equipped with your life jacket, all you have to do is paddle and let yourself drift. Keep your eyes peeled— herons and kingfishers sometimes fly over the river! Trips of 2 to 7 days are also available for the more athletic, covering 130 km of water and allowing you to admire the wildlife and flora that roam freely.

Just a few minutes are all it takes for an incredible spectacle to unfold before your eyes: the Valley of the Castles. The view from the river's lower reaches is exceptional, offering breathtaking vistas of the region's charming hilltop villages, including Beynac, Domme, and Castelnaud, while the castles proudly stand atop their rocky promontories. The flora and fauna perfectly complement this natural tableau, which evolves throughout the canoe trip. Once the descent is complete, a minibus will take you back to the base to return the equipment. After removing your life jacket, you can head to the lovely beach at Vézac to cool off in the river before enjoying a picnic in the shade of the willows and poplars. A snack bar is also open at the Canoë Pirate base, serving delicious, homemade meals to enjoy overlooking the Dordogne River. Bring towels, swimsuits, and a snack to make the most of a pleasant day in Vézac after your canoe trip.
