Located on the edge of Périgord Vert and Charente, L'Atelier (pARenThèse), housed in a 50m2 stable, offers a peaceful setting conducive to disconnecting.
Open to all, L'Atelier (pARenThèse) is a space dedicated to artistic practices and research focused on Nature. Artistic practice is offered here in the form of courses, classes and workshops open to all, adults and children from 10 years old, beginners or experienced.
The workshop is a place of transmission and initiation, of research and discovery ; a place where support and respect for each person facilitate learning and the expression of creativity.
The courses and workshops are led by Chloé Rodrigo, a graduate of the Toulouse and Bordeaux School of Fine Arts, and then a qualified teacher in visual arts. She taught for 14 years in middle and high schools and then led artistic workshops in Bordeaux for 10 years. Also trained in botany and herbalism (ARH/IFH), she explores the richness of dye plants and their applications in the field of Fine Arts (inks, screen printing, painting) and textile finishing.
She wishes to make L'Atelier (pARenThèse) in Périgord a place of initiation, exchanges and discoveries around Nature, colors and natural materials.
Nature offers us many resources that can be the means of our creations, allowing us to create colors, materials and tools. It is also the subject and motif of inexhaustible creations.
At L'Atelier (pARenThèse) internships and courses will be offered in three main areas:
1- PAINTING & DRAWING:
Creating is, above all, knowing how to see. Through our workshops, we invite you to explore various techniques to refine your vision and skills, and bring your ideas to life.
Examples of proposals:
- Variations and creations based on a color
- Drawing and watercolor painting in front of/in the landscape
- Discovery of the ancient technique of Tempera
- Painting under glass
2- DYEING & TEXTILE CREATIONS:
The Workshop (pARenThèse) introduces you to plant dyeing, which reveals the hidden colors in plants. The introduction to dyeing can be supplemented by the discovery of various processes for creating patterns and resists.
Examples of proposals:
- Production of natural dye extraction baths and then dyeing on plant and animal fibers (cotton, linen, wool, silk, etc.)
- Resist techniques and patterns (Shibori, Tie & Dye, Ecoprint, etc.)
- Dyeing and creating patterns with coloring pastes
3- NATURE & PLANTS:
Nature is a source of inspiration. We can find material there to create plant prints or natural colors, or even extract active ingredients for our well-being.
Examples of proposals:
- Prints and plant prints (Monotypes, Ecoprint, Tataki Zomé, Cyanotypes, etc.)
- Extraction of natural colors then production of vegetable inks and watercolors
- Sustainable harvesting and processing (macerates, alcoholates, hydrosols, balms, etc.)
INTERNSHIP PROPOSALS FOR SUMMER 2025:
L'Atelier (pARenThèse) offers you various internships for this summer. The internships take place in Dordogne (24320 Bouteilles-Saint-Sébastien), in a peaceful rural setting and a beautiful 50m 2 workshop space.
Each course is open to all and takes place over two days (10 a.m.-1 p.m./2 p.m.-5 p.m.).

Discovery and experimentation course around engraving (drypoint and intaglio on Tetra Pak) and around embossing.
“Monotypes and explorations of plant prints”
Discovery and experimentation course around the monotype technique (= unique impression) and print processes, particularly plant-based.
