    • 5 km south of Montignac-Lascaux, the gardens of the Château de Losse, (classified as a "Historic Monument" and labeled "Remarkable Garden"), are a setting for the large Renaissance Logis overlooking the Vézère.

In the spirit of this (15th & 16th centuries) era, they offer a labyrinthine and enchanting journey through the lush green rooms of the bower overlooking the river. The charming walk continues on the rampart walkway lined with rose bushes, in the low garden enclosed by the walls of the fortress, through a "knot garden" woven with boxwood and ends in the shaded park leading to the fountain carved into the cliff .

Losse offers the visitor scent gardens where the scent of wisteria, lavender balls, rosemary and santolina invade the senses.
Picnic garden furniture and tea room are located in the Princess Garden.

Small chateau but beautifully renovated. Lovely guide and guided tour (although only in french) but you have an English pamphlet which makes it easy enough to follow along.
