  A fantastic experience. Easily the closest I have ever come to prehistoric cave art. The electric train makes the whole thing easy on the feet, and adds a unique slant to the experience. Well worth a visit!

  Hands down my favourite cave I’ve been to in the area. The paintings in here are breathtaking and the fact that you get to visit the real cave is so special. The train ride through the caves is so fun and allows you to travel deep into the cave complex to see multiple painted areas. There is a great variety of animals depicted but it is, rightly, famous for the huge number of mammoths shown. It is incredible to see these pictures and imagine what life was like for the humans that made them. We turned up on the day for tickets as we were off season but I would recommend pre-booking in peak times so you don’t miss this wonderful attraction! Also incredibly good value :)

  Since it was the off-season [early Sept] I only needed to arrive about 20 minutes before opening to get tickets. The visit was fascinating, relaxing and informative. The train ride added a unique element. The tour was in French and the guide added some English here and there to fill in the blanks. Seeing the drawings up close and in a natural cave was a real treat. Not being able to take pictures made the visit very rewarding with no distractions. This cave is definitely worth a visit.
