    • The Grotte de Domme is a cave of concretions. The access is in the heart of the village of Domme, because the bastide was built on the cave. Depending on the period, the scenography is themed. The guided tour allows you to understand the geology of the area and the formation of these works of art of nature. At the exit, a panoramic lift allows you to admire the panorama over the valley.

Beautiful panoramic viewpoint after pleasant walk up through the hilltop village. An ice cream and a little train ride caps this lovely tourist highlight. Lots of parking. Recommended.

Incredible limestone caves which are quite different from the others in the region since you feel like you are part of the cave as you walk though all the thousands of stalactites & stalagmites of different sizes and forms that is left to our imagination. Rémi was an exceptional guide, he was natural, full of information and humour. He was eager to receive and answer questions. Of course it was completely in French. Perhaps it may be better to organise one or two hours in the day in English to help the foreigners. Photography and touching the cave structures is prohibited since the cave is starting to be damaged with external spores brought in by humans. There was bat dropping in the water, so don't touch the water either. They have interesting events in the caves on certain days for adults and children. I will definitely come to caves even if it is to listen to Rémi again :).

Buy your tickets at the tourism office and take the guided tour of the grotto and here you will ses lits of stalactites and stalagmites. The guide was very knowledgeable - but you’ll need to speak French to fully understand. Interesting tour - but you’re not allowed to take photos inside! Not suitable for visitors with mobility issues as there are lots of steps in the grotto.
