A fun and heartwarming campsite in the middle of the Dordogne. Perfect for our family to experience a french summer at its best! Merci Ghislain and Delphine! This review is another thank-you! This is what you call hospitality!! The hospitality we experienced from owners Delphine and Ghislain (and the rest of the staff) is incredible! And we've seen first hand that they work 24-7 around the clock to make your stay worthwhile. I haven't seen this amount of motivation from any campsite owner anywhere in Europe. This includes keeping us adults happy, but even more the children! Location: in the middle of the Dordogne. From here you can SUP or kayak both the Vezele and Dordogne rivers. Visit the castles, Lascaux, and so much more this beautiful region has to offer. The campsite is located on the slope of a hill, and has plenty of shade. The forest cools down so much at night, that you'll easily recover from hot french summer days. The road (Rte de Saint Cyprien) is not that busy, and if you ask for a spot up the hill to the south side of the campsite, you'll not be bothered by it. Facilities: The 'emplacements' for the tents are very spacious. We brought our tent (Bardani Airspace 350TC), Golf Variant and trailer which all fit on our site. The bar, restaurant, food, mussels-evening (go there!) are very good. Sanitairy facilities are clean. The pool isn't huge, but serves as a perfect cooling down place. And hey, the big rivers give plenty of swimming possibility! And then there's the wide range of game possibilities: a playing area for the small kids, petanque area, basketball field, open fitness location, football field, and fishing pond. Fun: For children. Another amazing effort from Ghislain. The program for activities for children is packed. You really need to do your best to complete everything! Ghislain works so hard for- and with the children to give them a great time. And remember: this is free of charge. For example: you can earn dino-badges by doing fun assignments (such as pointing where the polar star is). Complete them all, and you go home with all 8 badges. But that's not all of it: in winter (besides all the other work on the campsite) Ghislain laser-cuts a large dino in which the badges fit, including magnets to hang it up, and sent this to our home! He designed this himself, and each year he serves around 40 kids around Europe who completed all 8 tasks. For adults: dive into the french way to celebrate the summer on a campsite: go to the (all you can eat) mussels evening! Enjoy the petanque competition evenings! Try to understand the french-music pub-quiz ;) It's simple, we had a great time. Okay, their english is not perfect (my french isn't either), but the owners and staff do their utmost to help and understand you and make you feel right at home. And remember foreigners (myself included): if we try, we might learn a bit of french ourselves. We are a family with 2 children, age 9,10, and brought our tent. Merci beaucoup from the 1982-dutch family from The Netherlands, summer 2025.

Another wonderful stay at Le Val de la Marquise campsite in Campagne. Thank you, Delphine and Ghislain, for your availability, your kindness, and your good humor. It was with regret that we left you. We have wonderful memories of the good times spent with campers, enjoying meals in good spirits and singing. We highly recommend this campsite. If all goes well, see you next year.
