A park with a course in the trees

The Préhistobranche is more than a tree climbing park! Annabelle , Baptiste and their team welcome you just outside Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, after the pretty Eiffel bridge over the Vézère river. In this oak and pine forest, the sun plays with the foliage and in this very pleasant shade in summer, games and high platforms are hidden!

The Prehistobranch

This outdoor playground is accessible to the whole family, Annabelle and Baptiste have made this place a warm place. Over the years, they have redesigned the park with 3 distinct entities: Le Conquil, a path with rock shelters and troglodyte habitats, the Parc aux Dinosaures to immerse you in the Jurassic world and the Préhistobranche, which takes advantage of relief, but also solid and very tall trees on part of the park. 11 courses are available, of all difficulties. A part is accessible for children from 3 years old, a part is family friendly and finally, some courses are for seasoned adventurers, who like challenges and are not afraid of heights! Zip lines lovers will be served, they are numerous, very long and very fun.

Tree climbing safely

The Prehistobranch is provided with paths with a continuous lifeline. We arrive in the woods and we pass by the small yurt where a member of the team dresses you with a harness. It is comfortable equipment, adapted to the morphology and size of each climber. Carabiners are attached and after an initiation of a few minutes, you are ready to embark on the courses. It's very simple: you enter the course and you are attached continuously. Some games require you to lay the equipment on a cable, on others you just have to walk and the continuous lifeline follows you, hooked independently. It 's 100% safe for everyone. The team members are there to teach you and guide you.

The courses are noted, impossible to commit to one that is not suitable or too complicated. The only thing that can slow you down is apprehension, which will quickly dissipate when you see the children leap into the void with confidence! Tree climbing is a very popular activity. Why ? Because it's simple, quick to learn and suitable for everyone. Baptiste maintains the park himself, he is a climber and the platforms are checked every winter, they are stable and wide enough to evolve around the trees. From up there, the view is breathtaking!

Tree climbing for the whole family

The courses for the children are at the top of the park, they are at a reasonable distance from the ground, sometimes we go a little farther towards the tops of the trees, but everything remains under control... The zip lines are long but low enough to have fun in being deliciously frightened, without fright. The routes for adults and experienced riders face the magnificent view of the Château de Clérans in Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, on the other side of the water, as well as the Romanesque church . Enjoy the view, it is one of the most beautiful in the Valley. The courses in the pines below are quite high and the games are more technical, they require strength and skill, teenagers love it.

After the effort, the comfort at the snack bar, restaurant

After the sport, go to the snack bar at the entrance to the park, where cold drinks, some dishes and snacks await you. For those who brought the picnic, tables and an indoor area are available. Children will enjoy an ice cream and jumping on the inflatable playground. Before leaving, remember to take a tour of the shop, which offers quality toys, books on prehistory, nature and dinosaurs.

Note that the Préhistobranche has a large free car park.

If you wish, you can continue the visit through the Dinosaur Park. A very pleasant walk, in the forest and the pine forest, to meet the reptiles and other gigantic animals which populated prehistory, well before Man. Educational panels and timelines guide you and situate you in time.

Le Conquil and its troglodyte dwellings are also worth a visit, it is an extraordinary place with vestiges of the habitat of the first men. Caves, cellars, cavities, rock shelters… Nature first dug these shelters, then fitted out as real places to live. Excavations are underway to learn more about the past of this place, which is still quite mysterious... Come and discover its secrets!

Open from April to the All Saints holidays (and sometimes a few days at Christmas and winter holidays, check the website for dates), the Préhistobranche is the guarantee of spending a great sporting and fun day with the family or between friends. Animations for groups can be organized, consult Annabelle and Baptiste to organize your Bachelor parties, Team buliding and other cousinades!
