The Etangs du Bos

Saint Chamassy
The Etangs du Bos

Today, the thermometer is forecasting 35°! I decide to drop my rucksack in the Etangs du Bos (The Bos’ Ponds), located in Saint-Chamassy, not far from Le Bugue.

In high season, the ponds are open 7j/7, from July to the end of August. Bathing is supervised from 11am to 7pm. Allow €10 per adult, 9€ for the children under 16 years old and free for children measuring less than 90cm. Two tokens are offered at the entrance! En effet, some activities of the Leisure Activity Centre work with tokens: 1 token = €2, 6 tokens = €10 and 14 tokens = €20. Important note: The Etangs du Bos does not accept credit card; only cash, cheques or “chèques vacances” (holiday voucher)!!

On the activities side, the Etangs du Bos offer a large choice, for all ages and for all the tastes: bouncy castles, aero trampoline, mini-golf, electric boats, pedal boats, go kart track, bumper boats, toboggans (without tokens), trampoline (without tokens), heated swimming pool (without tokens), pétanque (without tokens), tennis table (without tokens)...In short, we cannot get bored and there is something to do for everybody, from birth to 110 years old.

It is a family park where we can hear laughs and splashes! The park covers 7ha, It is a vast amount of land dedicated to leisure activities. We can set up our pitch far from our neighbours, in the shade or in the sun without being on a top of each other (parasols and deckchairs rental for €2 each). It is a quiet place, without outdoor noises or urban annoyances. A little place of heaven surrounded by trees!

The plus: the changing cubicles! Ideal for discreetly getting changed, taking off your wet swimming gear before getting back into the car. You can also eat on site. Even the snack has various games! The dishes are simple and timeless but very efficient! There is a little Périgourdine note...The duck burgers. This area, with terrace, is ideal to have a drink, eating on the go before bathing or simply treating yourself!

I recommend the Etangs du Bos to all the families, couples and group of friends staying in this little corner of the Black Perigord. The diversity of the activities is ideal for some great relaxing, friendly and fun days! You do not like water? It is not a problem; there is a mini-golf and a trampoline! There is something to do for all! Dogs are permitted but only on a lead! The whole complex is very safe: lifeguards/rescuers are on site and the staff are pleasant and smiley. The activities, such as toboggans are open until 2pm. In low season, only the minigolf and the fishing area are open (2pm- 6.30pm for the golf, 9am-6.30pm for fishing).

Get ready! Caps, beach towels, sun cream and sunglasses, the Etangs du Bos are waiting for you!

Have a nice bathing time!
