    • History of Château La Renaudie:

Château La Renaudie is a wine estate of 32 hectares of vines in one piece located in the heart of the Pécharmant appellation. Its south-facing hillsides offer a quality harvest. Pécharmant being an appellation of red wines with character, our wines will perfectly accompany your regional dishes. The road to Saint Jacques de Compostela passes through the middle of our vineyard. We are also referenced Great hiking trail.

Our vineyard was certified HVE 3 (High Environmental Value) in 2018.

      History of the Foucauld Family:
“Charles de Foucauld, what is the relationship with Château La Renaudie? »
The Foucauld family is one of the oldest "houses" of Périgord where we find its traces for more than a thousand years with a filiation followed since the year 1119. Divided into several branches, one of which, the Foucaulds of Malenbert, remains still in the Dordogne. It was very present in Bergerac by its elder branch of the Foucauld marquis de Lardimalie, owner of the Château de Bridoire until 1939, as well as by its younger branch, the Foucauld de Pombriand, who in 1912 bought the Château de La Renaudie located in the commune of LEMBAS, historic seigneury of the Foucauld family. It is from this branch that Father Charles de Foucauld (1858 – 1916) came. Having entered religion as a Trappist monk after a military career and then as an explorer of Morocco, Father de Foucauld is best known for his vocation as a hermit in the land of Islam and his search for a very modern “universal brotherhood”. He will make several stays within his family in Bergeracois at the Châteaux de Bridoire and La Renaudie.

Proclaimed blessed by the Catholic Church in 2005, Charles de Foucauld was canonized on May 15, 2022. On this occasion, Château La Renaudie made special Charles de Foucauld counter-labels. You can find this Pécharmant Château La Renaudie Tradition 2019 / 2020 at the shop (limited quantities).

Very good Pecharmant wine, I took the opportunity to discover the excellent old vines vintages. You can't leave without taking some of these reasons from Bergerac with you. Very friendly welcome and cool tasting. Now I know where this excellent wine that I have known for ten years comes from.
