Beaumont-en-Périgord is an English bastide town founded in 1272 by Edward I, King of England. A stroll through Beaumont inevitably transports you back to the Middle Ages with its imposing fortified church, the Luziers gate, its fortified houses with screen walls, its narrow streets...
The Beaumontois region will charm you with its 100 km of hiking trails, including the Amadour trail, which will take you to Saint Avit Sénieur and Cadouin, whose abbeys are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites as part of the Way of St. James, passing through Molières, the smallest bastide town in Périgord.
